Unraveling the Themes of "Unbewitched"
The title
"Unbewitched", translated as ‘the magic is lifted,’ encapsulates the stark realism observed in today’s world, representing both a wake-up call from dreams and the ongoing search for fantasy despite harsh realities. Rozhkova’s focus on young individuals—girls, boys, lovers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community—offers viewers a profound sense of intimacy through her lens, drawing them into her hauntingly intriguing narratives.
Visitors will find themselves fully immersed in Rozhkova’s world, a juxtaposition of tension and warmth, where her subjects embody both vulnerability and strength. The art on display portrays a fine balance between the starkness of contemporary life and the enchanting fantasies it yearns for.
