The Trade Desk Partners with jeki Marketplace MASTRUM for Programmatic DOOH in Japan

The Trade Desk, a global leader in advertising technology, has announced a significant partnership with jeki, the subsidiary company of JR East, to provide programmatic Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) advertising inventory in Japan for the first time. Through the jeki marketplace known as MASTRUM, The Trade Desk now gives advertisers access to a premium inventory of DOOH screens located at 19 major stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area, which includes 249 screens. This collaboration was made possible through a partnership with Moving Walls, a Singapore-based company that provides technological support to the MASTRUM platform.

With this new access, The Trade Desk allows advertisers to purchase advertising inventory that covers some of Japan's busiest transportation hubs. By utilizing automated audience measurement and impression-based planning, MASTRUM facilitates more efficient and targeted advertising delivery, fundamentally transforming how advertisers interact with the consumer through these platforms available in high-traffic areas.

Koichi Inaba, Senior Executive Officer at jeki, expressed excitement about the opportunity that this partnership brings. "We are pleased to collaborate with The Trade Desk to offer advertisers—both domestic and international—access to the premium pDOOH advertising inventory of Japan's largest railway company. We intend to leverage world-class technology rooted in insights from Japanese business practices, enhancing demand while elevating the overall value of Japan's OOH media market. Our continued efforts will focus on automating high-efficiency and high-value media buying, which includes various OOH media such as digital signage across the streets."

Additionally, Keisuke Majima, the General Manager for The Trade Desk in Japan, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "We are glad to be the first DSP gaining access to the jeki marketplace, MASTRUM, providing premium advertising inventory within JR East stations—the largest railway company in Japan. As consumer media consumption diversifies, The Trade Desk is dedicated to offering our advertisers omnichannel advertising solutions that cater to their needs."

Looking ahead, The Trade Desk and Moving Walls plan to expand their collaboration to include access to advertising during train commutes, thus further broadening their service offerings in the Japanese market.
