Celebrating Innovation in Istanbul: Huawei Awards
On December 8, 2025, Huawei Mobile Services held a prestigious event in Istanbul, honoring the most innovative app developers and watch designers from Turkey. The Developer & Designer Awards recognized these trailblazers for their significant contributions to the Huawei wearable device ecosystem.
Wan Fei, Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group Türkiye, remarked, "The awards today not only celebrate creativity and technical excellence but also the spirit of innovation that propels our wearable device ecosystem forward. Turkish developers and designers have shown remarkable vision and talent, and we believe their contributions will inspire new possibilities across Europe. Together, we are shaping a future where technology enhances creativity and meaningfully connects people."
Turkey boasts a vibrant creative community and a rapidly growing user base of wearable devices, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of Huawei's global vision. By fostering collaboration and recognizing local talents, Huawei strengthens partnerships with designers and developers, aiming to provide users worldwide with richer, more personalized wearable experiences.
Shan Xuefeng, Vice President of Huawei Consumer Cloud Service Europe, highlighted that this initiative reflects Huawei's commitment to empowering local talent and promoting innovation throughout Europe. He stated, "By honoring Turkish developers and designers, we not only celebrate creativity but also build a stronger ecosystem that delivers personalized, top-notch experiences to our users worldwide."
This year's awards also acknowledged three outstanding partners: Akbank, Garanti BBVA, and Turkish Technology, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, for their exceptional contributions to Huawei's wearable device ecosystem. Their commitment to innovation and customer experience echoes a shared vision of creating a smarter, more connected lifestyle.
Huawei's Dominance in the Wearable Electronics Market
Huawei continues to hold a leading position in the global wearable device market, maintaining the number one spot for two consecutive quarters in Q2 2025, with a market share of 20.2%, according to IDC.
The event spotlighted Huawei's open and interconnected ecosystem, which enables developers and designers to innovate and connect with a global audience—especially through the creative design of watch faces, which draws from Turkey's rich design heritage.
A highlight of the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Huawei Consumer Group and Garanti BBVA, expanding their collaboration on smart payment solutions. Following the successful partnership in contactless payments through smartwatches, this initiative enhances digital convenience and transaction fluidity for users across Turkey.
The awards ceremony not only celebrated outstanding achievements but also reinforced Huawei's vision for mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance the wearable device experience for creators and consumers alike.
