The Global Automotive Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2026 Inductees

The Induction of the Class of 2026 into the Automotive Hall of Fame

On February 9, 2026, the Automotive Hall of Fame (AHF) proudly unveiled its Class of 2026, a select group recognized for their leadership, innovation, and significant impact within the global automotive industry. The announcement was made during the REVEAL 2026 event held in Naples, Florida, which was organized in collaboration with JM Family Enterprises and Naples Automotive Experience, and brought together board members, industry leaders, and other notable guests in celebration of the honorees.

This year's inductees read like a who's who of automotive innovation and influence:

  • - Akio Toyoda: The Toyota President is celebrated for redefining global leadership in the automotive sector. His driver-centric philosophy has revived passion and performance in modern mobility.
  • - Giampaolo Dallara: Renowned for his pioneering engineering in motorsport and the founder of one of the most influential racing car manufacturers globally. His contributions have shaped the realm of high-performance automotive engineering.
  • - The founders of TomTom: Consisting of Harold Goddijn, Corinne Vigreux, Peter Frans Pauwels, and Pieter Geelen, their work revolutionized navigation technology and transformed the way people navigate the world today.
  • - Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson of Barrett-Jackson: These two played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the collector car auction industry, enhancing the automotive culture on a global scale.

Sarah Cook, President of the Automotive Hall of Fame, emphasized the significance of this induction. She stated, “Being inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame is the highest honor given in the global automotive industry, and the Class of 2026 exemplifies the vision, boldness, and lasting impact that this honor represents.” Cook highlighted that the inductees have not only marked the industry in their respective periods but have also inspired future generations of engineers, leaders, and car enthusiasts.

The formal induction ceremony is set for September 23, 2026, at The Department at Hudson's in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Presented by MEMA, this prestigious event will gather new inductees, global automotive industry leaders, partners, and special guests to celebrate excellence, legacy, and innovation.

Jon Husby, the chairman of the Hall of Fame board, noted that the selection process is thorough and deliberate. He explained, “Each inductee in the Class of 2026 was selected for their lasting contributions to mobility and their influence on the future of the automotive industry. We are excited to welcome them into this distinguished global circle.”

Following the REVEAL 2026 event, a new initiative called Road to Induction will commence. This months-long experience will feature stories, engagement, and collaborations to honor each new member’s achievements through digital content, interviews, partnerships, and live activations leading up to the induction ceremony in September.
