David Lopez Takes the Helm as PASCO Scientific's New CEO with Vision for Education

PASCO Scientific Welcomes David Lopez as New CEO

On November 2, 2026, PASCO scientific announced the appointment of David Lopez as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, 2026. With over twenty years of experience in education, international service, and organizational leadership, Lopez is set to bring a fresh perspective to this company that has long been dedicated to enhancing science education through hands-on experimentation.

Founded in 1964 by Paul Allan Stokstad, PASCO scientific is renowned for its innovative science education equipment, software, and curricula designed to foster learning through direct engagement. As Lopez steps into his role, he acknowledges the impressive legacy that's been built and expresses his commitment to advancing this mission further.

In his first remarks as CEO, Lopez highlighted the intrinsic value of hands-on science education. He personally experienced the transformative impact of laboratory learning during his college years when he managed to complete an entire year of physics coursework during a single summer, illustrating how interactive learning makes complex concepts more accessible and enjoyable.

The appointment comes with high expectations. Shelley Stokstad, a Trustee of PASCO scientific, stated, "David joins a remarkable company of people, bringing gifts and perspectives that will strengthen our collective efforts." His experiences, particularly as the founder and leader of the Center for Humanitarian Engagement at Walla Walla University, have equipped him with a unique skill set to connect students with community partners and address real-world challenges.

Kenneth Weiss, the Chairman of PASCO's Board of Directors and a former colleague of Lopez at Maranatha Volunteers International, praised Lopez’s collaborative spirit and focus, which he believes are vital for navigating the complex educational landscape. Weiss noted, "Having worked with David at Maranatha, I've seen how he approaches difficult challenges; he listens carefully, brings people together, and maintains focus on outcomes."

In his new role, Lopez plans to listen intently to educators and Global Science Education Partners, striving to enhance product quality and support. Building on the robust foundation laid by his predecessors, he views sustainable growth as crucial for maintaining investments in teaching tools and support essential for hands-on learning.

Lopez's educational background is solid; he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, complemented by a minor in Chemistry from Walla Walla University, and a Master of Science in Administration from Andrews University. Currently, he is also pursuing a doctorate in public policy and administration at Walden University, indicating his ongoing commitment to educational advancement and leadership development.

As he takes the helm at PASCO scientific, Lopez underlines that his focus is on enriching students' experiences in science education and expanding their opportunities for discovery and innovation. His appointment signals a renewed commitment to helping more students experience the excitement of scientific inquiry through enhanced educational resources.

PASCO scientific, headquartered in Roseville, California, serves educators in over 100 countries worldwide, continuously pioneering tools that make science accessible and engaging for learners at all levels. As Lopez takes on his new role, it is anticipated that he will further elevate PASCO’s mission to truly bring science to life for generations to come.
