Prospanica's Acquisition of Techqueria: A New Era for Latino Professionals in Business and Technology

In a transformative announcement made on October 23, 2025, Prospanica, the Association of Hispanic MBAs and Business Professionals, revealed its intention to acquire Techqueria, a prominent nonprofit dedicated to enhancing Latino representation within the technology sector. This acquisition represents a bold step toward uniting two powerful communities—one focused on business leadership and the other on technology innovation—fostering a collective mission to empower Latino professionals nationwide.

Thomas Savino, the CEO of Prospanica, articulated the significance of this agreement: "This agreement represents the next chapter in our mission to empower the Latino community through education, opportunity, and leadership." He emphasized that the integration of Techqueria's network of innovators and Prospanica's legacy of business advancement would pave the way for a future where Latino professionals can thrive across various industries.

More than an Acquisition: A New Movement

This agreement signifies more than just an organizational change; it represents a national movement amplifying Latino leadership at the intersection of business and technology. Upon completion, the combined efforts of Prospanica and Techqueria will enhance opportunities for their members through shared leadership programs, mentorship networks, and national summits. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between the worlds of business and technology.

Additionally, the collaboration is expected to strengthen access to scholarships, thought leadership, and corporate partnerships, further driving Latino representation in top leadership positions. Savino shared, "Our expanded community reflects the strength, creativity, and resilience of Latino professionals across industries. Together, we're redefining leadership, driving innovation, and building a more inclusive future for all."

A Legacy of Empowerment

Prospanica's roots trace back to 1988, founded at UCLA as the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). The organization's singular goal was to increase the number of Hispanic MBA graduates and support their professional advancement. Over the years, Prospanica has transformed from five local chapters into a national entity with more than 50 chapters, empowering tens of thousands through scholarships, mentorship, and leadership programs.

Techqueria, established with the mission of supporting and advancing Latiné professionals in technology, has built a flourishing ecosystem promoting mentorship, equity, and representation in the tech domain. Its community, composed of over 20,000 members across ten chapters, has focused on creating spaces for Latiné professionals to connect, grow, and lead.

Joliz Cedeño, the Executive Director of Techqueria, expressed the significance of this partnership, stating, "For Techqueria, this partnership reflects what's possible when we come together en comunidad—rooted in representation, opportunity, and cultura. By uniting with Prospanica, we're building bridges between business and technology to ensure Latino professionals don't just thrive in the future of innovation—they're shaping it."

This acquisition by Prospanica is indeed a formidable stride toward unifying Latino professionals in business and technology, fortifying their roles in shaping the future. As both organizations continue to work together, they will further expand their initiatives to support and empower Latino communities across various sectors, fostering a better and more inclusive environment for all.
