Experience the Essence of Japanese Wine at Hotel La Vigne Hakuba's Spring Event

Discover the Essence of Japanese Wine at Hotel La Vigne Hakuba

In the picturesque setting of Hakuba Village, Nagano, Hotel La Vigne Hakuba is set to host an exquisite spring wine event on April 18, 2026. This event promises an immersive experience into the world of Japanese wines, showcasing the unique characteristics of various regions through expert guidance from noted vintners. The event will feature three distinguished wineries: Domaine Oyamada from Yamanashi Prefecture, VOTANO WINE from Nagano Prefecture, and Minamimuki Brewery, also from Nagano.

Attendees will have the privilege of interacting with the winemakers themselves, who will share the stories behind their wines and the dedication involved in their craft. This rare opportunity not only allows wine lovers to savor exceptional wines but also to understand the deep connection between the vineyards and the land from which the grapes are grown.

A Culinary Journey of Spring Flavors

Food plays a central role in the event, with a specially curated French dinner that highlights seasonal ingredients from the Shinshu region. Unlike traditional wine pairing dinners, guests can create their own unique pairings by selecting from a variety of distinct wines offered at the event. This aspect encourages a personal exploration of flavors, allowing each guest to tailor their dining experience according to their preferences.

This marks the seventh edition of the wine event at Hotel La Vigne Hakuba, reinforcing the hotel's commitment to creating memorable experiences through wine. The hotel's culinary team will prepare dishes that reflect the bounty of spring, inviting guests to indulge their palates while appreciating the stories behind each wine and dish.

Meet the Winemakers

Three esteemed winemakers will be present at the event:

  • - Yuki Oyamada, Domaine Oyamada (Yamanashi Prefecture)
With over 16 years of expertise at the renowned Lumiere Winery, Yuki Oyamada established his own winery in 2014. He is known for his belief in respecting the integrity of the grape and crafting wines that reveal each vintage's unique characteristics.

  • - Mitsuhiro Tsubota, VOTANO WINE (Nagano Prefecture)
Transitioning from architecture to winemaking in his 50s, Mitsuhiro Tsubota trained at the famed Coco Farm Winery in Tochigi. He crafts wines that embody the mineral-rich terroir of Nagano’s esteemed Kikyogahara Wine Valley, taking advantage of its unique climate.

  • - Nobuyasu Soga, Minamimuki Brewery (Nagano Prefecture)
A protégé of Oyamada, Nobuyasu Soga studied in France before founding his own winery. He focuses on finding grape varieties suited to his local environment and has garnered attention since his first vintage in 2018.

Enjoy a Unique Dining Experience

The venue for this enlightening event is the restaurant La Vigne Dining Fûdo, located within the hotel premises. The restaurant prides itself on offering dishes that resonate with the immediate essence of the season, ensuring that each guest enjoys a meal that is not only exquisite but also exclusive to that day. With over 1,000 labels of Japanese wines available, it strives to connect diners to the backgrounds of the wines and the skilled artisans behind them.

This wine event continues to be a significant step in the hotel's journey of educating guests about Japanese wines, enhancing their interest and appreciation for regional offerings.
