The World's 50 Best Vineyards revealed the much-anticipated rankings from No.51 to No.100, just ahead of their prestigious awards ceremony set for November 19 in Margaret River, Australia. This annual list showcases extraordinary vineyards around the globe, highlighting those that provide outstanding wine tourism experiences — from breathtaking locations to immersive tours.
This year's rankings feature establishments from
six continents and 38 different wine regions, with a notable
18 new entries from 17 diverse regions, including the renowned Champagne in France to the historic Tokaj in Hungary. A significant majority, 33 entries, hail from Europe, while the list also celebrates six from South America, five from Oceania, four from Africa, one from Asia, and another from North America.
Wairau River Wines in Marlborough, New Zealand, claims the top spot among the new entries at No.52, marking a notable achievement for the region's wine scene.
New Entries from Europe
The European section of the rankings is particularly robust, introducing
11 new vineyards to the list. Italy shines brightly here, contributing three new entrants to the prestigious rankings. Portugal stands out with eight placements, more than any other country, with six of these located within the stunning
Douro Valley. Spain is represented by three wineries, including the new addition from
Bodegas Arzuaga in Ribera del Duero, ranked at No.64. The UK also sees representation with
Leonardslee Family Vineyards in Sussex, now at No.56. Hungary’s
Tokaj-Hétszőlő Organic Vineyards made its debut at No.58, while for the first time, a vineyard from
Kakheti, Georgia,
Château Buera, appears on the list at No.72.
South America and Beyond
In South America,
Sitio La Estocada, located in Mendoza, Argentina, entered the list at No.91. South Africa secured two entries, featuring
La Motte Wine Estate at No.94 and
Hamilton Russell Vineyards at No.99. New Zealand is also thriving with three newcomers: Wairau River Wines at No.52,
Greystone Winery at No.89, and
Felton Road in Central Otago at No.98.
The region of Lebanon has
Chateau Kefraya making a mark this year at No.92, while the USA enters the rankings with
Beringer Vineyards at No.88 from its iconic Napa Valley.
