Starting November 1, 2025, Hotel Metropolitan in Ikebukuro presents an exclusive menu featuring seasonal sweets and artisan bread, drawing on the finest autumn ingredients like apples and pears. Under the management of General Manager Shigeo Ito, the hotel invites everyone to enjoy a cozy tea time with delicious treats as the weather cools down.

The hotel's renowned Cake & Bakery Shop will offer a variety of elegantly crafted desserts that capture the essence of the season.

Apple Gâteau - ¥780


Available from November 1 to November 30, 2025, this dessert features apples cooked in red wine, transforming them into a refined compote. Decorated to resemble a rose, this visually stunning piece is complemented by a cream cheese filling infused with mirabelle jelly, adding a gentle sweetness. The chocolate tart base incorporates a generous layer of the apple compote, ensuring that diners fully experience the seasonal flavor.

Pear and Cassis Verrine - ¥780


Available from November 1, 2025, to January 5, 2026 (excluding December 20-25), this layered dessert showcases poached pears and cassis mousse. The pears, poached in white wine, offer a fragrant sweetness balanced by the sharp acidity of cassis, making for an enticing combination. Presented in a clear glass, the festively decorated verrine is as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the palate.

From November 1, 2025, to January 5, 2026, the hotel will also offer two distinctive bread creations:

Sweet Potato Danish - ¥360


Returning due to popular demand, this fall-themed delight features a flaky Danish pastry filled with creamy custard and tender sweet potato cubes, drizzled with rich sweet potato purée. Finished with a caramelized top using a culinary torch, this bread embodies the flavors of autumn in every bite.

Premium Pain de M - Chocolat - ¥600


This bread showcases a premium mix of original hotel-blended flour, Takachiho fermented butter from Kyushu, heavy cream from Hokkaido, and skim milk. The exclusive seasonal flavor incorporates chocolate, roasted walnuts, and orange peel, enhanced with cinnamon and cardamom spices. Perfectly paired with a warm beverage, this bread brings warmth and comfort during the chilly season.

At the Cake & Bakery Shop, guests will discover a rotating selection of cakes, including the popular Suica Penguin Cake and a variety of fruit desserts, all lovingly crafted by the chef. The shop also offers gift items made with the hotel's signature Premium Pain de M and other baked delights.
