March of Dimes Recognized as 2025 Charity of Choice for UFCW's Labor Partnerships

March of Dimes Celebrated as UFCW’s Charity of Choice for 2025

March of Dimes, a prominent organization dedicated to enhancing the health of mothers and infants, has been selected as the Labor Partner Charity of Choice for the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) for 2025. This collaboration aims to improve outcomes related to maternal and infant health across the United States, combining resources and efforts from both organizations.

For over 85 years, March of Dimes has been a steadfast ally to labor unions, advocating for the health and well-being of working families. As stated by Cindy Rahman, President and CEO of March of Dimes, this partnership with UFCW is a continuation of their legacy, allowing them to strengthen advocacy efforts, provide essential resources, and foster meaningful change. The aim is to guarantee that every family, regardless of their circumstances, receives the necessary support for a healthy beginning.

The pressing nature of maternal and infant health in the US cannot be overstated, as the nation has consistently earned a dismal D+ grade on March of Dimes' Report Card regarding these issues. This has become a significant concern, as the United States is one of the most perilous high-income countries for childbirth. Through the newly formed partnership, UFCW—representing over 1.2 million members—will engage in fundraising activities, volunteer initiatives, and awareness campaigns targeting this ongoing crisis.

Marc Perrone, the International President of UFCW, underscores the importance of their work with March of Dimes. “The UFCW Charity Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations that have a tangible impact on working families' lives,” he affirmed.
