Dahua Technology Unveils Advanced AIoT Solutions for Smart Cities at SCEWC 2026
Advancing Smart Cities: Dahua's Vision at SCEWC 2026
The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026, held in Barcelona from November 3 to 5, provided a platform for Dahua Technology to demonstrate its cutting-edge AIoT solutions. As a leading firm in video-centric AIoT development, Dahua presented innovative applications designed to enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of urban environments under the theme, "Together for an AI-powered urban future."
Urban Safety Solutions
Dahua's Urban Safety offerings integrate various IoT devices and cameras with AI analytics. These technologies are engineered to swiftly identify potential risks and streamline emergency responses. One standout application features intelligent recognition, alongside text-and-image search functionalities. It also incorporates route tracking and integrated broadcasting tailored for missing-person searches, serving crucial roles in urban safety initiatives.
Smart Traffic Management
In a bid to improve traffic flow efficiency, Dahua unveiled its Smart Traffic solutions—which encompass traffic monitoring, signal optimization, and incident detection—among other capabilities. A notable achievement was a project in Campeche, Mexico, where Dahua optimized 34 intersections and established seven green wave signals. The results were impressive, yielding a 20% increase in traffic volume and a 15% decrease in waiting times at those intersections.
Enhancing Public Transport
Smart Mobility solutions from Dahua further develop public transportation systems by focusing on safety and efficiency. This includes vehicle monitoring, provision of safety alerts, and real-time data integration. For instance, in bus operations, driver monitoring systems are utilized to record and mitigate risky behaviors, while GPS tracking, passenger counting technology, and video surveillance work together to reinforce safety protocols and ensure effective fare management.
Urban Governance Innovations
Dahua has also introduced City Governance solutions that leverage AI for comprehensive analysis of urban issues. These technologies are adept at detecting illegal street vending, monitoring waste disposal in public areas, identifying missing manhole covers, road blockages, and even illegal fire hazards. The combination of natural-language search and automatic alerts enhances the efficiency of city staff, allowing for timely issue recognition and response coordination.
Commitment to Environmental Solutions
In a commitment to environmental management, Dahua showcased its Eco-Environment solutions, which focus on safeguarding natural resources. High-mounted thermal cameras, capable of detecting potential fire hotspots from a distance of up to 10 kilometers, work alongside ground monitoring and drone technology to assist in fire detection and response efforts. Additionally, a radar-based device coupled with a PTZ camera facilitates real-time water level monitoring, sending alerts if measurements exceed established thresholds.
Highlighting AI's Role in City Management
Beyond the innovative technologies displayed, key figures within Dahua Technology participated actively in discussions about the future of AI in urban environments. John Li, the General Manager of Dahua's Global Government Business Department, took part in a high-level roundtable on "Agentic AI Systems That Act,” emphasizing the critical role of AI in proactive city management. From enabling AI-driven searches to deploying AI agents capable of tackling urban challenges, Li asserted that adhering to principles of privacy, transparency, and accountability is essential to maximizing public value through these technologies.
Max Huang, the Director of Global Government Projects, further elaborated during his solution presentation titled "Building Resilient, Inclusive Sustainable Smart Cities with AIoT." He pointed out that utilizing edge intelligence and high-quality structured data establish foundational support for deploying large-scale AI models in real-world settings effectively.
"IoT sensing devices are the 'eyes and hands' of AI," he stated, emphasizing the technology’s potential to merge the digital and physical worlds to create safer and more efficient cities.
Looking Ahead
As the urban landscape continues to evolve, Dahua Technology pledges to collaborate with clients and partners, consistently working to advance smart city solutions and support the digital transformation journey of cities globally. The future is indeed bright, with AI and IoT at the forefront of urban innovation.
