Allspring Global Investments Enhances Fixed Income Research Team for Growth

Expansion of Allspring's Fixed Income Expertise

Allspring Global Investments, an asset management firm boasting $624 billion in assets under management, has announced a significant enhancement of its Global Fixed Income Research team. This expansion signals a concerted effort to bolster their U.S. high yield capabilities, crucial for supporting the firm's substantial fixed income offerings of $487 billion.

New Leadership

At the helm of this expansion is Dino Kritikos, appointed as the head of U.S. High Yield Credit Research. Kritikos brings over 15 years of experience from his previous role at Fitch Ratings, where he served as the U.S. and Canada head for industrials and transportation and was a managing director in corporate finance. His extensive experience encompasses leading highly effective teams and deepening sector expertise in corporate credit markets. His leadership aims to further develop Allspring's U.S. high yield research platform, as the firm continues to invest in differentiated, bottom-up research integral to investment decision-making processes.

New Additions to the Team

Joining Kritikos are senior research analysts Lucy Calandranis and Andy Childs, both bringing rich experiences from their former positions. Calandranis comes from Fidelity’s High Income Alternatives platform, where she focused on consumer sectors, performing comprehensive capital structure analyses and delivering actionable recommendations on high yield securities.

On the other hand, Childs has a diverse background, transitioning between buy-side and sell-side environments. Previously a vice president and credit research analyst at Pioneer Investments (formerly Amundi), he specialized in transportation and industrial sectors and provided recommendations across high yield, investment-grade, and leveraged loan issuers.

Commitment to Rigorous Research

Jamie Newton, head of Global Fixed Income Research at Allspring, expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Kritikos, Calandranis, and Childs, stating they each have strong track records in credit analysis and a collaborative approach that meshes well with the firm’s culture. These additions reflect Allspring's commitment to scaling and enhancing its fixed income research capabilities, thereby improving the quality of insights and outcomes for their investment teams and clients.

The Global Fixed Income Research team at Allspring comprises about 75 specialists. They operate within a globally integrated research framework that follows a sector-driven model, facilitating profound fundamental credit insights across asset classes and fostering better portfolio outcomes for clients.

Strategic Growth Initiatives

Earlier this year, Allspring announced a definitive agreement to acquire GIA Partners, LLC, a firm noted for its proficiency in managing global credit portfolios, with the closure of this acquisition projected for the third quarter. This strategic move, along with the hiring of potent talents, signifies Allspring's relentless pursuit of enhancing its fixed income platform and reaffirms its dedication to providing comprehensive solutions across global credit markets.
