Misunderstood Whiskey Co. Reintroduces Its Charitable Campaign



In recognition of National Cancer Prevention Month this February, Misunderstood Whiskey Co., a prominent player in the beverage industry, is re-launching its charitable initiative known as "Have A Toddy, Help Somebody." This campaign is aimed at benefiting families who are faced with the daunting battle of cancer and has already raised over $20,000 in previous years. This time, the company aspires to surpass that achievement.

Throughout February, Misunderstood Whiskey Co. pledges to donate one dollar from each 750ml bottle sold of its popular Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey. Customers can participate in the campaign by purchasing the whiskey online at shopmisunderstoodwhiskey.com or at select retail locations nationwide. Additionally, participating bars and restaurants across the country will be serving a special Hot and Iced Toddy created with Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey, further promoting the cause.

Supporting Families in Need



The campaign's proceeds will go to the JDJ Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization created by James Blauvelt. After losing both of his parents to cancer, James established the foundation to provide crucial financial assistance to families fighting cancer. The organization focuses on helping families cover living expenses, food, travel, and other costs during such challenging times. Furthermore, JDJ Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors impacted by cancer and funds critical research in the fight against the disease.

Delicious Recipes for a Worthy Cause



To elevate the campaign’s visibility, Misunderstood Whiskey Co. has curated eight tantalizing toddy recipes, both hot and iced, featuring their flagship product, Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey. Notable recipes include the Ginger Hot Toddy and TIKI Toddy. Each recipe emphasizes the use of their uniquely crafted whiskey, which blends select bourbon and American whiskey aged in oak barrels, giving it a smoother taste with real ginger undertones.

Ginger Hot Toddy Recipe


  • - 2 oz Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey
  • - 5 oz Hot Water or Chamomile Tea
  • - ½ oz Honey Syrup
  • - Squeeze of Fresh Lemon
  • - Optional: Star Anise, Cinnamon Stick, and/or Lemon Peel for garnish

Directions: Combine ingredients in a hot mug, stir, garnish, and serve warm.

TIKI Toddy (Iced) Recipe


  • - 1 ½ oz Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey
  • - 1 oz Passion Fruit Liqueur
  • - 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • - ½ oz Honey Syrup

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with pineapple and a purple orchid.
