OLX Group Introduces Innovative AI Solutions
Overview
OLX Group, a prominent player in the global online classifieds sector, is taking significant strides in enhancing its marketplace experience with the launch of two groundbreaking AI-powered tools: Agentic Selling and DealFinder. These advancements were revealed at the CLAIM Online 2026 summit in Amsterdam, where the company also shared insightful data regarding consumer attitudes toward AI. Research indicates that while AI usage is widespread, customers prioritize transparency and control over their decisions.
With nearly 60 million listings daily across 11 brands, OLX Group is leveraging over eight years of experience in integrating AI into their platforms. They have rolled out 86 Machine Learning use cases and 14 agentic solutions to streamline complex buying and selling processes. Today, these tools aim to empower users with greater confidence in their online transactions.
Agentic Selling and DealFinder
Agentic Selling
Agentic Selling, currently operational for 20% of private sellers on Otodom in Poland, simplifies the property listing and selling process. The tool effectively guides sellers through each step—from property valuation to final posting—ensuring that they remain in control throughout the process. This approach not only enhances the listing experience but also builds seller confidence by providing them with actionable insights derived from data.
DealFinder
DealFinder, initially tested in Portugal with 2,000 users, serves as a buyer's assistant on WhatsApp. This innovative tool alerts users to price changes and new listings while allowing searches via text, image, or voice commands. Preliminary results show promising performance, with an 18% conversion rate from searches to contact.
According to Andreas Merentitis, OLX's Chief Data Officer, these new tools are designed with the core belief that AI can manage complexity, but the final decisions must rest in the hands of users. The emphasis on customer trust is paramount; OLX aims to ensure that each tool is evaluated based on whether users feel confident in the outcomes.
Insights from Research
As part of the launch, OLX Group conducted surveys about AI's role in critical life decisions, specifically in job hunting and finding homes. Among respondents aged 18 to 29 across five European countries, 92-96% reported using AI tools in their personal lives. However, less than 41% felt adequately prepared for impending labor market shifts due to AI.
Interestingly, while young men rated their AI skills higher than their female counterparts, both genders expressed similar levels of concern regarding AI's impact on career prospects—31% overall.
In Poland, youth exhibited a higher degree of apprehension about AI and automation, with 37% expressing substantial concern. OLX's existing career tools, such as CV Optimiser and AI Interviewer, aim to bridge this confidence gap. Early users of these tools have reported positive outcomes, with 88% finding CV Optimiser helpful and 90% praising the AI Interviewer tool for its practical feedback.
Among home seekers using OLX across Romania, Poland, and Portugal, the desire for transparency in AI features is clear. For instance, only 5% trust AI valuations over human assessments, while 36% favor realtors' estimates. A majority (78%) demanded disclosure regarding AI-generated alterations in listings.
The Importance of Human Touch
In light of these findings, OLX is committed to designing tools like Agentic Selling to uphold the importance of transparency while assuring that final decisions remain with the seller. This practice aims to reassure users of the reliability of the recommendations they receive.
According to Christian Gisy, CEO of OLX Group, while customers engage with AI for essential life decisions, it is crucial for them to understand and trust the insights these tools provide. The success of AI adoption hinges not just on its usage but on establishing trust in the outcomes.
Achievements and Future Directions
The launch of these AI solutions is not just a technological advancement; it reflects a broader ambition to reshape the online marketplace landscape. OLX Group's tools have demonstrated effectiveness in improving user engagement, with AI-driven titles and descriptions increasing listing completions by 11 percentage points. In real estate, AI tools have halved the time needed for ad postings.
The results of these introductions signify OLX Group's dedication to integrating AI seamlessly into their platforms while prioritizing user trust. As they continue to advance and innovate, the company's focus is firmly set on providing safe, transparent, and efficient experiences for millions of users worldwide.
