Mammut Unveils the Fall/Winter 2025 Collection with a Campaign for Glacier Protection

Mammut's Commitment to the Environment and Innovation

Starting August 1, 2025, Mammut will officially launch its highly anticipated Fall/Winter collection, supplemented by a campaign titled "Together For Glaciers". This initiative is part of Mammut's ongoing commitment to environmental protection, showcasing their innovative products while raising awareness of climate change, especially concerning glaciers.

Founded in Switzerland in 1862 as a rope manufacturer, Mammut has built a remarkable history of over 160 years. The brand has continuously provided outdoor enthusiasts with innovative apparel and gear, embodying the spirit of #ChallengeYourself through their 2025 slogan, "Rise with the Mountain". This emphasis on growth through challenge aligns with the brand's goal of supporting individuals through high-performance products and fresh concepts.

As part of the "Together For Glaciers" campaign, Mammut is addressing the alarming changes in mountain landscapes caused by glacial melt, which has dramatically altered regions like the Aletsch Glacier in the Swiss Alps. Due to this retreat, a hut that was once accessible by climbing over rock and ice is now unreachable without a 200-meter metal staircase, highlighting the severe impacts of climate change.

The glaciers are melting at an alarming pace, with an annual loss of about one meter, escalating every year. This reality drives Mammut's prioritization of responsible business practices in response to climate crises. They are firmly committed to combating global warming through significant reductions in carbon emissions across their operations and supply chains. By informing society, Mammut aims to raise awareness about environmental issues, seeking to contribute to global solutions.

At the core of this campaign are Mammut's environmentally friendly products. The collection includes innovative jackets like the Crag IN Jacket Men, which utilizes Mammut LOOPINSULATION, a unique synthetic insulation made from leftover materials from rope manufacturing. The outer fabric is composed of recycled materials, ensuring protection while supporting circular economies. Another standout piece is the Tree Wool FL Longsleeve AF Men, made from responsibly sourced Merino wool and biodegradable fibers that promote environmental sustainability.

In addition to the new collection, Mammut stores nation-wide are enhancing customer experiences with the introduction of Product Care Specialists. These experts provide guidance on caring for high-performance items, particularly GORE-TEX jackets, allowing customers to prolong the lifespan of their products while minimizing environmental impact. Many customers remain unaware of proper care techniques, which can lead to premature wear and degradation of gear. Through these workshops, Mammut promotes not only the longevity of their products but also greater environmental stewardship.

For instance, the Mammut Sendai store will host a care event featuring experts from Gore Japan. Participants can learn about GORE-TEX care techniques, enhancing their understanding and ability to maintain their outdoor apparel. Those who join will received a gift of outdoor-friendly detergent as a thank-you for their commitment to caring for their gear.

Environmental Responsibilities of Mammut

Since adopting recycled materials in 1994, Mammut has consistently sought to improve labor conditions and environmental care in their production processes. The company actively collaborates with environmental organizations and maintains accountability through partnerships with oversight systems like the Fair Wear Foundation and bluesign®. In 2018, Mammut became a key signatory of the UN Fashion Industry Climate Action Charter, acknowledging climate crisis goals as a top strategic priority. Their collaboration with Climeworks for carbon removal and the introduction of products like Mammut LOOPINSULATION demonstrates their dedication to innovative solutions for environmental challenges.

This year, they have also published the "Responsibility Report 2024" on August 1, detailing their sustainability initiatives. The report and more information can be accessed through their official website.

Special Campaign Offer

From August 1 to August 13, during the "Together For Glaciers" campaign, customers purchasing products over 15,000 yen will receive a special Mammut bandana featuring designs of the Aletsch Glacier, available while supplies last.
