A Celebration of Flavors at Matsuya Ginza
Ginza is known for its rich culinary heritage, and
Kitaohji is adding to that legacy with a special collaboration at the Matsuya Ginza's 100th anniversary event. From
April 29 to May 6, 2025, patrons will have the chance to indulge in a unique beef cutlet sandwich and other delicious meat dishes made from the finest ingredients in a pop-up shop located in the B1 Food Stage.
Matsuya Ginza's 100th Anniversary
Founded in
Showa 2 (1927), Daito Company has been instrumental in the development of Ginza’s dining scene post-war. The
Kitaohji Ginza Main Store, renowned for its private dining experience, will showcase a selection of seven special meat dishes during this celebration. The event is themed on the concept of connection – linking the iconic Ginza culinary scene with top restaurants in the area.
The Special Beef Cutlet Sandwich
One of the highlights is the
Kitaohji Special Beef Cutlet Sandwich. Collaborating with distinguished local establishments, including
Ginza Yoshizawa and
Ginza Kimuraya, the sandwich is crafted using high-quality black-haired Wagyu beef, expertly prepared as a thick fillet cutlet approximately
2.5 cm in thickness. This is perfectly enclosed between slices of toasted, fully matured bread from Kimuraya, renowned for its meticulous baking methods developed since its establishment in the
Meiji era.
Adding to this delectable offering, the sandwich is complemented by a honey mustard made with honey from the
Ginza Honey Project, which enriches the flavors of the sweet and tangy sauces that accompany the dish. The
Japanese-style sauce made with Kitaohji’s unique shishito peppers and soy sauce further enhances the dish's taste, making it a must-try for anyone wanting to experience the essence of Ginza.
Additional Menu Highlights
In addition to the beef cutlet sandwich, diners can choose from a variety of other exquisite items, including:
