According to a recent report from DeepL, a prominent global AI product and research company, a significant 69% of business executives worldwide foresee a transformative impact from AI agents in their organizations by 2026. This marks a crucial transition from experimenting with AI technology to implementing it in a manner that fundamentally redefines how businesses operate.
The insights derived from surveying 5,000 executives from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan, shed light on an impending shift in workforce dynamics. As enterprises prepare to deploy autonomous AI agents, they are set to reinvent traditional workflows, amplify productivity levels, and reshape organizational structures. Jarek Kutylowski, CEO and Founder of DeepL, emphasizes that the time for AI agents has come, asserting that they will eliminate tedious context-switching tasks and repetitive duties, empowering employees to concentrate on strategic initiatives that advance business objectives.
Significantly, the survey revealed that nearly half of the executives (44%) expect major business transformations due to agentic AI in 2026, while an additional 25% indicated that such changes are already in motion. Key factors driving this confidence include demonstrated return on investment (22%), adaptability of the workforce (18%), and growing readiness across enterprises (18%). Conversely, Japan's investment remains comparatively conservative, with only 38% expressing eagerness for language AI.
Voice AI is also witnessing a transformation; it is evolving from a 'nice-to-have' feature to a necessity. More than half (54%) of executives believe that real-time voice translation will be crucial by 2026, marking a rise from the current 32%. Notably, demand for these solutions is propelled by advancements in live voice technology (46%), rising customer expectations (40%), and the pursuit of cross-market expansion (38%).
