iFarm Iceland Resumes Sales of Japanese Strawberries in Iceland
After a brief hiatus due to seedling issues in March 2025, iFarm Iceland ehf., a fully owned subsidiary of iFarm Co., Ltd. based in Tokyo, has successfully resumed the sales of premium Japanese strawberry varieties in the Icelandic market.
On November 28, at noon (GMT), the online store ichigo.is launched a pre-order sale, which saw the initial batch of approximately 100 packs (around 30 kilograms) sell out on the same day. Each pack, weighing 300g, is priced at 4,500 ISK (about 5,400 JPY), placing it as a high-end product in the marketplace. The established trust in the quality of iFarm Iceland's brand has contributed significantly to the high demand observed during the pre-order phase.
Future Sales Expansion Plans
To complement the resumption of sales, iFarm Iceland is advancing various strategies to expand its distribution channels:
- - Supply to High-End Restaurants: Preparations are underway to supply premium dining establishments, including Michelin-starred restaurants, across Iceland.
- - Production of Processed Goods: iFarm aims to diversify its offerings by introducing seasonal processed products, including jams, which will be available throughout the year.
- - Christmas Season Promotions: The company will participate in key Christmas markets in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, to boost both sales and brand visibility. Notable dates for pop-up appearances include:
- December 7: Höfstuðin
- December 12: HYALIN Reykjavík
- December 13-14: Harpa
- December 21: Höfstuðin
- - Exclusive Gift Packages: Special gift packs utilizing traditional Japanese wrapping cloth (furoshiki) will be launched to cater to the Christmas gifting season. These initiatives are aimed at establishing a robust premium strawberry market and enhancing brand perception in Iceland.
Equity-Based Crowdfunding Initiative
In an effort to bolster its production capabilities and increase supply quantities, iFarm is currently engaging in equity-based crowdfunding through CF Angels. This initiative aims to expand the reach of Japanese agricultural technology into Europe, starting from Iceland, setting the stage for the emergence of a new agricultural model from Japan.
- - 募集期間 (Fundraising Period): Through December 15, 2025, at 18:00
- - Investment Unit: 100,000 JPY per share (maximum of 5 shares per individual investor)
- - 募集ページ (Funding Page): CF Angels Project
By merging sustainable agricultural practices with high-quality Japanese strawberries, the company is committed to creating a new culinary culture and business model in Iceland and across Europe.
