Jiffy Lube Celebrates Riverton Depot Dawgz as National Champions in Oil Change Competition

Jiffy Lube National Oil Change Championship: Riverton's Triumph

In a notable achievement for the auto service industry, Jiffy Lube has unveiled the winners of the annual J-Team All Stars Challenge, a competition that recognizes excellence in customer service within its ranks. This year, the Depot Dawgz team from Jiffy Lube franchisee USP Group, located in Riverton—just outside Salt Lake City—captured the coveted title of the best performing Jiffy Lube team in the United States. Competing against three other finalists, the Depot Dawgz showcased exceptional teamwork, technical expertise, and a commitment to customer satisfaction in a spirited contest held in Houston on March 7, 2025.

The competition included teams from across the country, with notable finalists such as Space Coast Lube's Lubrigators from Melbourne, FL, Jeddi Jiffy Crew from Ayer, MA, and Los Lobos from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. In total, more than 1,300 Jiffy Lube locations participated in this thrilling event, which evaluated teams on various criteria including operational execution, teamwork, and the speed of service delivery, specifically the Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change.

Winning the competition not only granted the Depot Dawgz the prestigious title but also came with a grand prize of $10,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube in Las Vegas, slated for March 16. The team members—Kyle Peterson, Isaac Akiyama, Mason Chivers, and Zander Palfreyman—demonstrated remarkable skills and dedication throughout the competition.

Luke Byerly, President of Jiffy Lube International, commended the Riverton Depot Dawgz, stating, "They exemplified great teamwork, technical knowledge, speed, and determination en route to victory." He also praised all finalists for their ongoing commitment to customer care, noting that the challenge is designed to celebrate the hard work and expertise of service center employees.

A Legacy of Excellence

The J-Team All Stars Challenge has been a fixture in Jiffy Lube’s history for over twenty years, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering employee development through its renowned Jiffy Lube University training program. This program empowers employees to acquire the technical knowledge and customer service skills necessary for delivering top-notch vehicle maintenance and care.

Jiffy Lube, a pioneer in the quick oil change sector since 1979, continues to lead with its innovative Jiffy Lube Multicare business model, which encompasses a range of services including oil changes, brakes, batteries, tires, and other essential vehicle needs. The company’s headquarters in Houston oversees over 2,000 franchised service centers across North America, serving nearly 19 million customers annually.

In a parallel competition, the Los Lobos team from Team Car Care secured the Customer Experience Award, a recognition stemming from two unannounced visits conducted by a third-party auditor. Evaluated against six key performance criteria, this team also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and earned a $10,000 prize along with a second-place finish in the All Stars Challenge.

Steve Werner, President and CEO of Team Car Care, remarked, "Our service center teams showed exceptional performance in both of these competitions, reflecting their dedication to delivering a five-star service experience to every guest."
