Celebrating Leadership in Education
In a commendable recognition of exceptional leadership, Think Together has awarded Jesse Durkin and Ricardo Molina the prestigious 2026 Randy Barth Leadership Award. This annual accolade, conferred upon individuals who exemplify the organization’s commitment to community service and impactful leadership, highlights the dedication these two leaders have shown to transforming the educational landscape in California.
Honoring Impactful Leaders
Reflecting on their achievements, Randy Barth, the Founder and CEO of Think Education, praised both leaders. “This year saw an abundance of remarkable nominations, yet Jesse and Ricardo’s commitment to empowering students and enhancing educational opportunities truly set them apart,” Barth commented. Their work has become a beacon of hope for the communities they serve, showcasing how purposeful engagement can lead to improved academic prospects for children.
Jesse Durkin: Champion of Innovation
Jesse Durkin, who joined Think Together in 2022, has significantly influenced the Santa Fe Springs region. Serving more than 5,000 students across multiple school districts, Durkin has implemented innovative strategies to address educational disparities. Notably, he launched the first high dosage tutoring program in partnership with South Whittier School District in fall 2023. This initiative targets students falling behind in reading and math, using data-driven methods to help bridge learning gaps. The success of this program has prompted the district to renew and expand its collaboration with Think Together, evidencing the positive outcomes of Durkin’s initiatives.
Durkin shared his enthusiasm, stating, “What drives me is Think Together’s relentless innovation. I aim to build collaborative partnerships that actualize school districts' visions for expanded learning, ensuring students are equipped with the access they need to thrive.”
Ricardo Molina: A Decade of Dedication
With nearly ten years with Think Together, Ricardo Molina’s journey illustrates his steadfast commitment to student growth and community leadership. After starting as a program leader, Molina has risen through the ranks and currently oversees Northern California’s programs, impacting approximately 3,000 students across six districts.
His influence is evident in the nearly doubled district partnerships he helped forge as a quality assurance coach, focusing on operational excellence. As Executive Director of Programs, he emphasizes creating supportive environments where both students and staff can flourish. “I believe in empowering others and establishing frameworks for success,” Molina shared. “The impact of investing in people goes beyond any one classroom, nurturing a culture of learning and growth.”
