Daito Kentaku Launches Disaster-Resilient Rental Housing Feel on May 15, 2025

Daito Kentaku Introduces Disaster-Resilient Housing Option

On May 15, 2025, Daito Kentaku Co., Ltd., based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, will launch its latest rental housing option named ‘Bokulab Rental Feel.’ Designed specifically for couples and families, this new offering prioritizes disaster preparedness, showcasing the company’s ongoing commitment to safety and resilience in living spaces.

Daito Kentaku's initiative is part of their project named the “Bokulab Disaster Research Laboratory,” which focuses on integrating disaster preparedness into everyday living. This innovative housing development follows previous releases, including ‘Bokulab Rental Niimo’ launched in March 2022, ‘Bokulab Rental Yell’ in October 2022, and the upcoming ‘Bokulab Rental Domo’ set for release in January 2024. Each of these developments has received phase-free certification, ensuring that they are practical during both normal and emergency situations.

Key Features of Bokulab Rental Feel

The ‘Bokulab Rental Feel’ emphasizes in-home evacuation readiness. It boasts seismic resistance rated at the equivalent of Grade 3, ensuring the safety of residents during earthquakes. Additionally, the housing units come with generous storage spaces that encourage residents to prepare for emergencies in their daily lives. The design allows for a seamless integration of emergency preparedness with everyday functionality.

Furthermore, this housing option includes an innovative feature where residents can opt for solar panels and storage batteries. If these options are selected, each unit will also include emergency USB outlets, enabling users to charge their mobile devices and radios during power outages. This practical addition reflects Daito Kentaku's focus on supporting residents not just in regular living but also in times of crisis.

Commitment to Disaster-Resilient Housing

As the threat of natural disasters continues to rise, Daito Kentaku remains steadfast in its commitment to developing and popularizing disaster-resilient rental housing solutions. The launch of ‘Bokulab Rental Feel’ represents a significant step forward in providing safe and prepared living environments that stand up to challenges.

This housing project, built with a 2x4 wooden structure, will cater to general areas, except for regions with heavy snowfall and Okinawa. It offers various layouts, including a one-bedroom layout (1LDK) on the first floor and a two-bedroom layout (2LDK) on the second floor. For those preferring a sunroom, the 1LDK will be 46.69 square meters.

A Vision for the Future

With a sales target of 30 units for the initial year, Daito Kentaku aims to contribute to a more disaster-prepared society through innovative housing solutions. Their ongoing research and development reflect their commitment to not only enhancing the quality of life during normal times but also ensuring that homes are dependable during emergencies.

As Daito Kentaku continues to unveil cutting-edge housing options, it remains crucial to support community welfare through safety and sustainability. The ‘Bokulab Rental Feel’ stands as a testament to these values, combining domestic comfort with essential disaster readiness.
