The Hunt for Chief Snuggle Officers: A Paw-some Opportunity

In an adorable initiative kicked off by Purina, the search for the next Chief Snuggle Officers (CSOs) is officially on! This playful competition, which aims to celebrate the charm of puppies and kittens, will enlist the help of one furry friend from both categories. Each CSO will receive a remarkable “salary” of $25,000, as well as the honor of becoming honorary brand ambassadors for Purina Puppy Chow and Kitten Chow.

Adorable Roles with Real Responsibilities

The primary role of the selected puppy and kitten is to embody the essence of comfort and joy that pets bring into our lives. They will not only serve as symbols of cuddly warmth but also act as influencers who emphasize the importance of quality nutrition in the early stages of life. Apart from being irresistibly cute, these little ones will be responsible for promoting good nutrition and encouraging play—important factors in their growth and well-being.

This year’s contest follows the success of the inaugural CSO initiative, which crowned Pudim, a CavaPoo from Overland, Kansas, and Ika, an American Shorthair kitten from Queens, NY, as representatives of their respective categories. These remarkable pets charmed audiences and reinforced the message of good nutrition and loving companionship.

The time frame for the application process runs from July 1 to July 17, 2026, providing ample opportunity for pet owners to throw their furry companions into the spotlight. Interested participants are invited to submit a photo, a short resume detailing their pet’s qualifications, and a brief video showcasing their pet’s snuggling skills. The only requirements? The puppy or kitten must be under 12 months old at the time of submission. For larger breed puppies, the age limit extends to 24 months.

Once the submission period concludes, three finalists for each category will be selected, leading to an exciting public voting phase beginning August 17, 2026. The ultimate winners will be announced in early October 2026.
