What is the World Barista Championship?

The WBC stands as one of the largest barista competitions globally, with the theme, “Where Baristas Shape the Future of Coffee.” Organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), it gathers baristas from around 50 countries who have excelled in their national championships. Participants are required to create four espressos, four milk beverages, and four signature beverages within a 15-minute timeframe. They are judged on taste, technical skills, creativity, cleanliness, and presentation by certified judges from the World Coffee Championships (WCC). The competition progresses through rounds until the world’s number one barista is crowned.
