Aeon English Introduces New Eiken Support Course for Kids

Aeon English Launches a New Course for Eiken Preparation

Aeon English, a leading language education provider based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has announced the launch of a new online preparation course specifically designed for children who are taking the Eiken (English proficiency test) levels 4 and 5 for the first time. This course will start on January 25, 2026, and reflects the growing need among parents to ensure their children are equipped with essential English skills early on.

As per a survey conducted by Aeon in June 2025, 65.9% of parents believe that obtaining an English qualification is essential for their child's future. Despite this belief, 74.2% of children currently do not hold any Eiken certifications. There is a notable gap between parents' aspirations for their children's English skills and the actual qualifications held, with 51.6% expressing concerns over how to help their children achieve these goals.

Given that English has become a compulsory subject from the third grade of elementary school in Japan, and is increasingly required for secondary school entrance examinations, the necessity for children to prepare for tests like Eiken has never been greater. Aeon's new course aims to address these needs comprehensively.

The "Introduction to Eiken Levels 4 and 5 Preparation Course" emphasizes a strategic approach to understanding the Eiken test format thoroughly. Classes will focus on honing skills through careful study of each question type, providing not only knowledge but also the confidence necessary to tackle the exam effectively.

The course will initially be offered twice a week, however, due to its rising popularity, it will soon expand to four classes each week to accommodate more students. This allows attendees to immerse themselves deeply in the material and gain proficiency in tackling the Eiken assessments.

What sets Aeon apart is the expertise of its instructors—around 80% of Aeon's Japanese teachers have achieved a TOEIC score of 900 or higher and/or a Level 1 Eiken certification. The organization aims to boost this percentage to 100% over the next two years, ensuring that children benefit from top-notch educators who are well-equipped to guide them through the learning process.

Aeon's educational philosophy is to instill a strong foundation in English skills while encouraging students to engage proactively in their studies. The course covers essential areas including vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, writing, and listening, ensuring that children are well-prepared for both the primary and secondary components of the Eiken tests.

Additionally, Aeon provides tailored support for students preparing for the speaking component of the Eiken exam, offering specialized lessons that focus on developing oral communication skills. These lessons, taken in conjunction with regular coursework, provide a comprehensive preparation experience.

Utilizing high-quality teaching materials from Obunsha, which is well-regarded for its effectiveness in preparing students for Eiken, the lessons ensure that participants grasp the nuances of the test, learning how to approach different types of questions effectively.

As part of its commitment to making language learning accessible and effective, Aeon offers a variety of programs aimed at fostering a love for English among children and motivating them to pursue additional challenges alongside their test preparations.
