Durham School Services Expands its Reach by Partnering with Community Consolidated School District 59
Durham School Services Expands its Presence in Illinois
In a significant development for student transportation, Durham School Services has partnered with Community Consolidated School District 59 (CCSD59) in Illinois. This collaboration marks a pivotal expansion for Durham, a leading provider of student transport services in the region, as they prepare to serve the district starting this summer until July 2029.
This recent development follows Durham's earlier partnership with Glenbard Township High School District 87 earlier this year, solidifying their commitment to provide safe and reliable transportation services to more than 422 schools across Illinois.
The partnership with CCSD59 is built on the foundation of prioritizing student safety. Durham will oversee a total of 74 routes tailored to meet various needs, including regular, special education, and summer transportation. Equipped with 86 state-of-the-art buses, Durham plans to implement innovative safety measures designed to enhance the security and well-being of students. The fleets will feature cutting-edge technology such as Seon video surveillance cameras, Zonar's fleet management for real-time GPS tracking, Samsara’s AI-enabled dash cameras, and BusZone's bus tracking app for parents.
Dr. Brett Gallini, Superintendent of Schools at CCSD59, expressed excitement about the partnership stating, “The safety of our students remains our top priority, and we are confident that Durham shares this commitment to ensure our kids' well-being. We look forward to working closely with them to deliver dependable transportation services for our families and students.”
In preparation for the upcoming school year, both teams are actively working to ensure a seamless transition. Durham has initiated proactive staffing strategies, including hiring current transportation employees from the district to maintain consistency for the CCSD59 community. “We are grateful to CCSD59 for trusting us with this important responsibility,” said Tim Wertner, CEO of Durham School Services. “Safety is integral to our operations, and we aim to exceed the expectations of both the district and their families.”
As Durham continues to take on new partnerships, they are also inviting community members to consider becoming part of their mission through upcoming hiring events. On May 15, 2026, prospective employees can attend a hiring event at 1000 Wellington Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL, where Durham will offer paid CDL training, a sign-on bonus, and various additional benefits including health/dental insurance.
Durham School Services is dedicated to providing safe and dependable transportation solutions grounded in their core values: Safety, Care, Transparency, Communities, and Culture. With the expansion into CCSD59 and the continued strengthening of their foothold in Illinois, Durham reinforces its position as the go-to provider of student transportation, demonstrating reliability that families can count on every day.
