Join the Tokyo Open Data Community Kick-off Event for 2025
On July 16, 2025, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host an important kick-off event for its Open Data Community at TIB (Tokyo Innovation Base) from 18:30 to 20:30. Designed to include various stakeholders interested in open data, including businesses, government agencies, and academic institutions, this event aims to promote communication and interaction among users of open data.
What to Expect at the Event
The event will feature discussions and workshops that delve into the potential of open data in shaping the future. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights from industry experts and participate in a hands-on workshop featuring Power BI.
Special Guest Speaker Session
The first part of the event will showcase a lecture from Tomoki Ban-no, a board member of Civic Tech Japan and the CEO of MA. He will share valuable information regarding the trends and future prospects of open data, supported by analyses of successful use cases both within Tokyo and overseas.
Power BI Hands-on Workshop
Following the guest speaker, there will be a hands-on lecture focusing on the practical applications of Power BI utilizing Tokyo's open data. Led by Yoichi Ishikawa, Director of AI and DX Support at Ant Capital Partners, this session will help participants experience the process of transforming ideas into reality while leveraging innovative business intelligence tools.
Networking Opportunity
The final section of the event will provide an invaluable networking opportunity where participants can engage with speakers and fellow attendees to exchange ideas and collaborate.

The Tokyo Open Data Community was established to encourage communication among open data users and promote the benefits of open data in Tokyo. With over 600 members and counting, the community thrives on active participation and collaboration among diverse members.
