GAC INPOW Launches Revolutionary Energy Storage Solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026

GAC INPOW Unveils Innovative Energy Storage Solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026

At the prestigious Intersolar Europe 2026 event held in Munich, GAC Group's energy storage subsidiary, INPOW Battery, made headlines with the unveiling of its groundbreaking 587Ah semi-solid-state energy storage cell. This momentous introduction marks a significant stride in the global energy storage market, particularly within Europe—a key market for sustainable energy solutions.

The star of the presentation, the 587Ah semi-solid-state cell, represents an industry first for mass production. Its unique technology integrates the safety advantages typical of solid-state batteries with the necessary scalability and cost-effectiveness for commercial use. The cell operates with a proprietary composite oxide-polymer electrolyte, efficiently reducing the free electrolyte presence to a mere 0.01%. This notable reduction has led to enhanced safety performance while ensuring the cell is viable for mass production.

In a series of rigorous abuse tests designed to challenge the cell’s durability, the technology has proven its mettle. It withstood extreme conditions—being compressed at ten times the national safety standard, undergoing full-cell cutting, enduring a one-hour exposure to temperatures of 200°C, and even facing direct flames exceeding 1,000°C. Remarkably, these tests resulted in no fires or explosions, underscoring the cell’s robust safety profile, which approaches that of fully solid-state batteries.

Alongside the new semi-solid-state cell, INPOW also showcased its revolutionary 6.25MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system. This utility-scale product is crafted to address essential needs such as renewable energy integration, grid balancing, and long-duration storage applications. Enriched with triple-layer safety features, the system employs AI-driven predictive diagnostics and a cloud-based monitoring platform that can identify potential risks up to 20 days before occurrence. It even offers thermal runaway alerts up to 24 hours in advance, positioning it as a leader in energy storage technology.

Furthering its European strategy, INPOW announced plans to establish a dedicated sales and technical service center in Europe by October 2026. This center will be pivotal in providing localized technical support, after-sales services, spare parts, and project development assistance tailored for European customers.

XU Junhai, General Manager of INPOW Battery, highlighted the importance of the European market, stating, "Europe represents a crucial milestone for the global energy storage industry and the initial step in INPOW's international expansion strategy. We are dedicated to delivering automotive-grade safety standards, advanced battery technology, and long-term support for our European partners."

INPOW Battery's commitment to innovation is bolstered by GAC Group's extensive experience in automotive manufacturing. Combining sophisticated vehicle-grade battery technology with intelligent manufacturing and integrated energy management, INPOW aims to provide reliable, safe, and sustainable energy storage solutions on a global scale.
