HeartX Cardiovascular Accelerator: Announcing the 2026 Cohort

On September 28, 2026, HeartX, backed by HTA and MedAxiom, revealed its selection of five innovative healthcare startups to join the 2026 accelerator program. This initiative focuses on enhancing cardiovascular care solutions by connecting promising early-stage companies with leading cardiovascular providers across the nation.

Each chosen startup will receive a substantial investment of $150,000 and engage in at least one pilot project or clinical study within a participating cardiovascular program. According to Jeff Stinson, director of HTA, these companies are tackling critical challenges in cardiovascular healthcare. He expressed optimism about what these innovative teams can achieve through real-world clinician collaboration.

Selected Startups:

The five startups that earned a place in the 2026 HeartX program are:

1. Flow Medical (Chicago, Illinois) - This company focuses on advancing treatments for pulmonary embolism through a unique, personalized approach to catheter-directed thrombolysis. Their all-in-one catheter offers real-time feedback to physicians aiding in efficient clot resolution.

2. Mode Sensors (Trondheim, Norway) - Mode Sensors specializes in wearable technology aimed at continuous and non-invasive fluid monitoring. Their innovative ReBalans® system provides healthcare providers with vital, real-time information regarding a patient's fluid status.

3. Noah Labs (Berlin, Germany) - This startup harnesses AI technology to enhance remote monitoring for patients experiencing heart failure. Their platform integrates telemonitoring capabilities with AI-powered vocal analysis to detect early signs of deterioration, potentially preventing severe complications that lead to hospitalization.

4. Galenband (Galway, Ireland) - Offering a groundbreaking wearable cardiac telemetry system, Galenband plans to monitor cardiac function for up to 90 days. Their technology utilizes advanced sensors paired with automated data transmission and AI analysis, providing clinicians with timely insights while allowing patients a non-invasive monitoring option.

5. Omini (Suresnes, France) - This team is currently developing a portable blood biomarker monitoring platform designed for patients with chronic illnesses. Utilizing state-of-the-art electrochemical biosensor technology, Omini's system allows healthcare providers to conduct multiple tests using just a single drop of blood, supporting effective disease management.
