K1 Speed's Expansion: 11 New Indoor Go-Kart Centers
K1 Speed, recognized as the world's leading indoor go-kart operator, has recently announced a significant expansion initiative that will introduce 11 new indoor go-kart centers in both the U.S. and the U.K. This expansion aims to provide a more extensive platform for young, aspiring drivers to learn indispensable racing techniques while fostering confidence in their abilities.
With indoor tracks that are specifically designed to be fun and adventurous, aspiring racers can expect to experience the thrill of all-electric go-karting, with speeds reaching up to 45 miles per hour. The move not only enhances accessibility for a new generation of racers but also contributes to the development of a larger talent pool that will compete in the highly anticipated K1 Speed E-World Championship, an annual event that showcases the best racers from over 100 K1 Speed locations across the globe.
U.S. Expansion Details
The first of the new locations in the U.S. opened on October 24th in Culver City, California, featuring Southern California's inaugural elevated indoor go-karting track, stretching 1,200 feet in length. Following this launch, more centers will be established in various states, including:
- - Totowa, New Jersey
- - Irondale, Alabama
- - Buckhead, Georgia
- - Cleveland, Ohio
- - Thornton, Colorado
- - Kansas City, Kansas
- - Louisville, Kentucky
- - Charleston, South Carolina
All of these locations are projected to be operational by the end of 2026.
U.K. Expansion Plans
K1 Speed will also see a substantial increase in its presence within the U.K., adding two centers to complement the existing location in Canary Wharf, London. The new centers will be located in Vauxhall, London, and Glasgow, Scotland, and are anticipated to serve the growing local demand for go-karting experiences.
Co-Founder and CMO of K1 Speed, Susan Danglard, stated, "We look forward to providing a platform for racing hopefuls in these great communities, both domestic and international. Across professional motorsport disciplines like Formula 1, NASCAR, and INDYCAR, almost all competitors start their careers with go-karting. As the world's largest indoor go-kart operator, it is our duty to provide accessible racing to younger generations. We want to open as many doors in the world of racing for our clientele as we can."
Pathway to the E-World Championship
At every K1 Speed location, a monthly Challenge Grand Prix league is held, featuring divisions for juniors, teens, and adults. At the conclusion of the Challenge GP season, the top three racers from each division advance to their respective state championships. The leading racers from the state level then compete for excellence at the U.S. championship, which takes place at K1 Circuit Winchester, California. It is here that the podium finishers move on to the E-World Championship, where competitors come from locations including England, Scotland, Italy, France, Mexico, Canada, China, South Korea, and Puerto Rico.
For international participants, the pathway is more streamlined, as racers only need to finish in the top three of their division during the local Challenge GP season to advance straight to their national championship.
Overall, with this latest expansion, K1 Speed will operate a total of 107 centers across 32 states and 10 countries by the end of 2026. The company’s commitment to growing the sport shows no sign of halting, with even more indoor karting tracks expected to be announced soon. In addition to the racing experience, K1 Speed locations also feature food and beverage options at their Paddock Lounges, an extensive selection of arcade games, racing simulators, as well as a range of K1 RaceGear products. The E-World Championship, highlighting the competitive karting spirit, will demonstrate K1 Speed's ongoing dedication to transforming the indoor go-karting experience for all.
