After over a year of extensive planning, the highly anticipated Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB is set to kick off from August 14 to 16, 2026. This event marks a significant milestone for Québec, as it hosts the first-ever UTMB World Series event in the region, attracting nearly 4,000 runners from 44 different nationalities. The picturesque trails of Mont-Tremblant will serve as the backdrop for an exciting weekend filled with intense competition, community spirit, and breathtaking scenery.

What to Expect

This inaugural race is more than just another addition to the global racing calendar; it symbolizes Québec’s entry into the world of elite trail running. Co-produced by the non-profit organization Événements Harricana, known for its commitment to outdoor activities and healthy lifestyles, this event stands as a testament to the province's rich sports culture and hospitality.

Runners will be able to choose from six different courses designed to accommodate varying levels of experience. Among these, four offer the coveted Running Stones, qualifying participants for the lottery for the HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc finals in Chamonix. The courses include the challenging Odyssée 100K, Tremblante 50K, Diable 20K, and Chutes-Croches 20K. Each race promises its own set of challenges, with the Odyssée 100K boasting an impressive distance of 81 kilometers and an elevation gain of over 4,000 meters.

Festivities Kick Off

The festivities will commence on Friday at 10 a.m. with a welcome run through the charming pedestrian village, guided by popular local influencer Jay Du Temple. The following day, racing will officially begin at 5 a.m. with participants embarking on the Odyssée 100K. Some may spend up to 18 hours navigating the rugged trails, racing against time and their physical limits.

To enhance the race experience, the pedestrian village will transform into the headquarters for Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB, with an expected 10,000 visitors. Attendees will be able to witness race starts, finishes, and award ceremonies, while exploring an Ultra-Trail Village featuring over 40 exhibitors. Cultural experiences will also be woven into the fabric of the event, with Québec folklore showcased through various interactive installations, including a flying canoe inspired by the legendary chasse-galerie.

Local flavors will enrich the aid stations, where runners can refuel with maple syrup, maple fudge, and other regional delicacies.

Spectator Experience

Spectators can follow the action from three strategic points along the racecourse. The BUFF Cheer Zone at Domaine Saint-Bernard will offer entertainment and a food truck serving breakfast, while the HOKA Zone at Pic White will provide shoe trials and music. The Näak Zone at Base Nord will feature a DJ, tastings, and exciting entertainment activities.

Who to Watch

Several top-level athletes will compete, including Elliot Cardin, Paul Vanoostveen, and Camille Girard in the Odyssée 100K, promising an electrifying atmosphere for both competitors and spectators. Events will also be streamed live via the LiveTrail platform, allowing supporters to keep track of their favorite runners in real-time.

A Community-Focused Event

In keeping with the spirit of fostering community, around 370 volunteers will support the execution of the races, operating aid stations, ensuring safety, and enhancing the overall experience for all involved. The event not only aims to promote trail running but also has a philanthropic aspect. Through various initiatives, it has raised over $160,000 for local charitable organizations including the Tremblant Foundation and the Québec Epilepsy Association.
