ProLogium's latest development represents an impressive milestone in battery technology—a fully inorganic electrolyte battery. This breakthrough follows years of meticulous research that has transitioned the battery's composition from 90% inorganic content to an unprecedented 100%. This critical advancement promises enhanced energy density, improved charging times, and reliable performance even in extreme weather—a combination that aims to elevate the EV driving experience.

Yang pointed out that after unveiling the first full-ceramic separator battery in 2024, ProLogium is setting new standards with what is billed as the world's first fully inorganic electrolyte battery, positioning itself to commence pilot production by the year's end.

Five Transformative Breakthroughs Addressing Consumer Concerns



During the CES presentation, five key advancements of ProLogium’s fourth-generation LCB were spotlighted, directly targeting barriers to EV adoption identified in a 2024 McKinsey report. These include:

1. Extended Range: Enhanced energy density translates to longer driving distances.
2. Fast Charging: Mimicking refueling convenience, the new battery can recharge up to 60% in just 4 minutes.
3. Cold Weather Reliability: Maintaining performance at temperatures as low as -20°C.
4. Efficient Heat Management: Advanced thermal design that facilitates quick heat dissipation.
5. Unmatched Safety: Non-flammable design eliminating risks associated with conventional batteries under high stress.

Redefining Energy Density and Performance



ProLogium's ambitious goals extend to achieving energy density levels that surpass existing technologies. The fourth-generation LCB boasts an energy density that exceeds conventional lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries by significant margins—99%, 111%, and up to 150% as improvements unfold over three years. This means the new battery can achieve exceptional specifications of up to 380Wh/kg and 860–900Wh/L, making EV designs lighter and more efficient.

Yang envisions future iterations aiming to go beyond 450Wh/kg and 1000Wh/L by 2026, an objective that keeps the company at the forefront of battery innovation.

Fast Charging: A Priority



The advancements in charging technology are equally transformative. With the new LCB system, achieving 60% charge takes just 4 minutes, while reaching 80% capacity requires only 6 minutes. This revolutionary speed approaches the experience of conventional refueling, fostering wider adoption of EVs as charging infrastructure evolves and improves profitability for service providers.

Safety First: A New Benchmark



In Rhombus safety tests, ProLogium’s battery maintained its integrity even in extreme conditions. Its fully inorganic formulation ensures that it remains non-flammable, distinguishing it from traditional lithium-ion solutions. Equipped with an Active Safety Mechanism (ASM), the battery self-activates to prevent thermal runaway at elevated temperatures, showcasing a commitment to user safety.

Towards a Sustainable Future



At the CES keynote, Yang conveyed ProLogium's broader perspective on sustainable innovation. He stated, “True innovation starts with the core chemistry of batteries—improving charging efficiency and safety, which is vital for the ecosystem.” Collaboration with engineering partners like FEV aims to streamline battery pack designs, contributing significantly to the sustainable transportation landscape.
