Increasing Trend of Marriage Through Matching Apps Among Young Adults in Tokyo

The Shift in Marital Trends Among Young Adults in Tokyo

In a groundbreaking survey conducted by Enito Group, the changing landscape of how young adults find their life partners has been unveiled. Focusing on couples aged 20-39, this research, which included the responses of over 6,200 married individuals across Japan, highlights the significant role of matching applications in contemporary dating.

Key Findings from the Survey

One compelling insight from the survey shows that for individuals in their 20s, matching apps have emerged as the most prominent medium for initiating marriages. Specifically, among women aged 20-29 residing in Tokyo, a striking 45.6% indicated that they met their partners through a matching app. This figure demonstrates that nearly half of young women in the city are turning to technological solutions for romance.

Additionally, when looking at men and women aged 20-29 living in Tokyo, 39.6% reported matching apps as the starting point for their marital relationships. This data not only emphasizes the acceptance of technology in social interactions but also suggests a broader trend toward digital matchmaking in urban settings among younger generations.
