The 20th Japan Society for Aesthetic Medical Science Meeting Report

On January 23, 2026, the Japan Society for Aesthetic Medical Science (JAPSA), led by President Hiroo Teranishi, hosted its 20th conference in Kita Ward, Osaka. The theme for this year was "Learning, Inheriting, and Innovating," reflecting the society's commitment to advancing aesthetic medicine through knowledge exchange and cutting-edge research.

This year's meeting welcomed 36 physicians from across Japan, who presented 13 different topics on the latest techniques and findings in aesthetic medicine. An environment rich in collaboration and discourse surrounded the event, with participants eager to engage with discussions on new approaches and effective treatments in the medical field. The conference aimed to provide detailed insights into both basic and advanced surgical techniques, which attracted significant interest from attendees seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge.

One notable session was held by Dr. Woo Ram Kim, the director of Wyne Plastic Surgery Clinic, who presented a luncheon seminar titled "Strategic Design for Thread Lifts Based on Patient Background — A Practical Approach Considering Age, Skin Characteristics, and Combination with Fillers." His talk highlighted the minimally invasive treatment of thread lifting, positioning it as a design discipline rather than merely a technique. Participants found this perspective refreshing, as it allowed them to consider treatment strategies based on age, tissue characteristics, and varying degrees of sagging.
