Fender Unveils The New Vintera III Series, Blending Vintage Vibes with Modern Aesthetics

Fender Debuts Vintera III Series: A New Era of Vintage Instruments

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), based in California, has just announced the highly anticipated Vintera III Series, a fresh evolution of its acclaimed vintage-inspired guitar lineup. Set to launch on April 15, 2026, this new series promises to offer musicians meticulously crafted instruments that echo the sounds, aesthetics, and feelings of the iconic 1950s, 60s, and 70s.

The Vintera III Series is a response to players seeking true vintage characteristics in their guitars. The series focuses on significant milestones in Fender’s history, a concept akin to a “greatest hits” collection that selects the most celebrated specifications from the golden age of rock music and provides access to the tones that have been cherished by musicians for decades.

Design-wise, the Vintera III Series marks a significant advancement from previous iterations. While the original Vintera Series embraced a broader era-spanning approach, the III Series zeroes in on specific historical designs, enabling enhanced historical accuracy and authenticity. Each model is engineered with great attention to detail, reflecting the appearance, color, neck structure, and pickups that characterize legendary Fender vintage styles.

Max Gutnik, FMIC’s Chief Product Officer, emphasized the goal behind the Vintera III Series: “Our aim was to recreate those defining moments that shaped Fender's legacy. We're not merely capturing an entire era but are instead focusing on the most iconic specs that players continue to crave today. By faithfully reproducing the pickups and neck shapes from various periods, we're offering contemporary musicians a real connection to the instruments that have laid the foundation of music history.”

To achieve an authentic vintage tone, Fender's engineering team revisited the company's archives and developed vintage-style pickups tailored for each decade. Players can look forward to experiencing warm, rounded sounds from Alnico II pickups as well as the punch and clarity of Alnico V models.

The neck shapes reflect historical accuracy, ranging from the substantial “V” and “D” shapes from the mid to late 1950s, to the comfortable medium “C” shape of the early 60s, and the slim “C” shape characteristic of late 60s to early 70s guitars. Details such as the headstock, decals, position markers, and finishes are meticulously recreated to reflect the specifications of each era.

To celebrate the release of the Vintera III Series, singer-songwriter and record producer Nate Amos has launched a campaign video featuring the new models. Amos shared, “When I'm on tour with one band, I often work on songs for my other projects simultaneously. Bands like This Is Lorelei and Water From Your Eyes have evolved to have their unique expressions. I feel like the Vintera III Jaguar® fits perfectly into this evolution. Maybe it’s the floating tremolo, but there’s a delightful chaos that emerges when playing these guitars with gusto.”

Through the Vintera III Series, Fender connects new generations of players with the spirit of the most influential musical eras, showcasing sounds and innovations that have shaped modern music.
