IHG Launches 'Guest How You Guest' Campaign Featuring Nanao
IHG Hotels and Resorts, headquartered in the UK and operating in Japan through IHG-ANA Hotels Group Japan, has officially announced the launch of their new brand campaign titled "Guest How You Guest—自由に、自分らしく" (freely and as you like) set to commence in June 2025. The campaign aims to promote individual experiences in hotels that align with guests' preferences and travel purposes. To commemorate this event, a special launch event was held in Japan featuring actress Nanao, who stars in the new concept movie for this campaign.
At the onset of the event, Kosuke Yamada, Director of Marketing Shared Services for IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan and Micronesia, spoke about the diverse hotel brands under IHG. He expressed, "We hope this campaign will make our guests aware that IHG offers a variety of brand options to cater to their unique stay experiences."
The campaign, set to launch on June 11, 2025, is focused on showcasing the freedom of choice available to guests at IHG Hotels. Yamada added, “It brings us great joy to provide guests with their own authentic experiences matched with our hospitality.”
Following his remarks, the Japan-exclusive concept movie was revealed to attendees, featuring Nanao. Commenting on the campaign's theme, Nanao shared, "I love traveling abroad and frequently stay in hotels. I genuinely feel I am experiencing the essence of IHG’s concept. Upon reviewing the hotel lineup from IHG, I noticed several hotels where I have previously stayed, and I feel delighted to have enjoyed such wonderful stays."
Nanao also reflected on her experience filming at the ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo, stating, “The night view was stunning with a luxurious atmosphere that truly relaxed my soul.” As she reminisced about her time at various properties, Nanao discussed her personal experiences at Kimpton and Six Senses.
"At Kimpton, I was welcomed with a beautiful Water Apple and Longan dessert, and since then, I always make it a point to buy those fruits when I visit tropical areas!" she exclaimed. Regarding Six Senses, she remarked, "The atmosphere was simply wonderful. I usually enjoy going to the beach, but the hotel was so comfortable that I spent my entire time relaxing in my room! I value my alone time during holidays for relaxation and reflection, and selecting the right hotel room is crucial. Among all the places I've stayed, Six Senses stands out as outstandingly superior."
When discussing her hotel stay routine, she revealed, "When traveling alone, I indulge in complete relaxation within the hotel grounds. I often read books on a balcony or terrace with a pool."
IHG encompasses ten hotel brands within Japan, ranging from InterContinental to Six Senses, and is particularly focused on expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio. They have successfully established their presence not just in main urban areas like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, but also in scenic destinations such as Appikogen, Beppu, Manza, and Ishigaki. Over the past five years, brands like Six Senses, Kimpton, and Vignette Collection have entered the Japanese market, with Regent Hotels and Resorts planned for future expansions.
