Join the 24th Annual Step Forward to Cure TSC Event Series This Spring

The TSC Alliance is gearing up for its 24th Annual Step Forward to Cure TSC event series, set to run from April 12 to June 7, 2025. This year, Nobelpharma America proudly takes on the role of Title Sponsor, further emphasizing the event's commitment to raising awareness and funding for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).

In 2025, participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in either virtual or in-person events across 18 locations in the United States. This innovative approach allows individuals from around the globe to join in the fight against TSC, a rare genetic disorder that significantly impacts the lives of those affected.

Tuberous sclerosis complex leads to the growth of tumors in various organs, primarily affecting the brain, heart, kidneys, skin, eyes, and lungs. The effects of TSC vary widely among individuals; some can lead independent lives, while others face serious health challenges necessitating complex care. In particular, changes within the brain caused by TSC can lead to seizures, developmental delays, and behavioral disorders, with the condition being the most common genetic cause of epilepsy.

The connection between TSC and autism is also notable, with an estimated 40-50% of individuals with TSC also diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. This means that advancing research and understanding of TSC could have profound implications for tackling numerous other conditions, including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, diabetes, and even certain forms of cancer, which collectively affect over 65 million people in the United States alone.

Participants in-person can engage with their local communities while virtual attendees can join from anywhere, maximizing the event's outreach and impact.
