Welcome to ART GALLERY 6F
On September 9, 2026,
ART GALLERY 6F will officially open its doors on the sixth floor of Isetan Tachikawa, marking a significant cultural revival for the community. Once a source of pride and a dreamlike treasure chest for locals, department stores are returning to their roots by emphasizing cultural promotion, art education, and community vitality. This new gallery aims to serve as a vibrant space where people can gather, exchange ideas, and nurture their sensitivity through encounters with art and each other.
The guiding philosophy of the gallery is succinctly captured in the phrase, “
While the value of objects may change, the value of people remains constant.” This venue aspires to be more than just a marketplace; it envisions itself as a nurturing ground for cultural seeds that will grow and flourish over the next century. The goal is to evolve from a mere retail establishment into a cultural institution that shapes the future of West Tokyo by nurturing projects and individuals who will carry forward this vision.
A Unique Selection of Art and Value

Upcoming Pop-Up Events
In addition to the main exhibition, ART GALLERY 6F will feature a pop-up event titled
“Beauty in Function: Mingei and Nordic Design” from October 7 to October 13, 2025. This exhibition celebrates the 70th anniversary of Swedish designer Wilhelm Kåge's visit to Japan, which marked a significant point in the artistic exchange between Japanese mingei (folk crafts) and Scandinavian design. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful stories behind functional art.
