A joint venture between Global Hospitality Investment Group (GHIG) and a renowned investment firm has made waves in Boston’s hospitality sector with the recent approval of a new hotel project located on Anchor Street. This initiative is particularly exciting as it's aimed at enriching the Seaport District's already vibrant atmosphere, especially with its proximity to the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center.

The Boston Zoning Commission, following a unanimous vote from the Boston Planning Department, has green-lighted the construction of the urban lifestyle hotel on February 11, 2026. This hotel will be an essential addition to the existing Aloft and Element hotels in the area, collectively forming a sprawling 968-key hotel and retail campus under a long-term agreement with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA).

Project Details



Upon completion, this new hotel will feature 438 guest rooms, spread across a substantial 160,000 square feet of space. Notably, its design incorporates a landscaped entry plaza on Anchor Street, which is set to be complemented by an indoor/outdoor lobby bar. Furthermore, the project will also introduce a rooftop amenity area that promises to be a significant draw for both business and leisure travelers alike.

This ambitious undertaking is part of a three-hotel development initiative that commenced in 2016, aimed at not just modernizing, but also diversifying the lodging landscape available to visitors in Boston. Kevin Colket, the founder and CEO of GHIG, expressed enthusiasm about the project's potential to bolster the local tourism and hospitality sector, aligning perfectly with the Convention Center’s growth and expansion goals.
