Explore the Wonders of Busan: A Family Learning Journey
The South Korea Tourist Corporation, in partnership with HIS and Camelialine, has unveiled an exciting family program termed 'Learning Together in Busan: A 4-Day Adventure'. This unique travel experience is designed to foster learning through exploration and cultural immersion.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fukuoka branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, this collaborative project offers families a chance to engage in meaningful experiences during their inaugural overseas travel. Busan, located just across the sea from Fukuoka, is regarded as the 'closest overseas destination' accessible via a convenient ferry service from Hakata Port. This geographical advantage allows families to embark on a comfortable journey, balancing travel and education harmoniously.
Perfect for First-time Travelers
The program addresses common concerns of families considering international travel. Parents often feel that flying abroad can be daunting, especially for children. This initiative focuses on providing a safe and enjoyable environment for first-time travelers. With well-planned itineraries and guided support from local staff, families can feel assured as they undertake their overseas debut.
Highlights of the Program:
1.
Support for First-time Overseas Travelers: Families can benefit from hands-on assistance as they journey to Busan, including support for passport acquisition with a special rebate for children.
- For the first time, families can enter the world of international travel, navigating the process with the guidance of local staff dedicated to making the experience fun and educational.
- Each child not only receives support for obtaining their passport but also a cash back incentive to help ease the costs.
2.
Unique Learning Opportunities Onboard: Families will have experiences on the ferry that are typically inaccessible. Offered activities include:
-
Ferry Exploration: Families will get to learn about the role of ferries and cargo transportation through special access to restricted cargo areas.
-
Safety Workshops: Onboard lessons will cover vital safety information, including practical training on life jacket use and knot-tying, ensuring a solid understanding of maritime safety.
-
Cultural Experiences: Families can take part in fun and educational Hangeul classes and create souvenir keychains that will be useful during their travels in Korea.
3.
Hands-on Experiences in Busan: In the heart of Busan, participants will engage in authentic culinary activities, such as traditional 'kuksu' (noodle) making using a millstone, from grinding to kneading, with the noodles to be taken home as a cherished souvenir.
4.
Educational Materials Provided: Each participant will receive an original work sheet designed for their travel assignments, which can be easily submitted for school projects. Moreover, they will be presented with certificates of completion and opportunities for memorable photo sessions wearing captain's hats as a testament to their achievements during the journey.
