The Minato City Local History Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled ‘传承未来!Minato Heritage Newly Designated Cultural Assets Exhibition / Archaeological Findings Report Exhibition / Life in the Past Exhibition’. This exhibition aims to present various materials that narrate the story of Minato's history, allowing visitors to connect with the past and understand its significance for future generations.
Newly Designated Cultural Assets Exhibition
Minato City is home to a plethora of valuable cultural assets that convey the local history and culture. Each year, the city designates new cultural assets to ensure their preservation for future generations. This year, two new cultural assets will be featured in the exhibition, which were officially designated in October. Among them are:
- - Tangible Cultural Asset (Old Documents): This includes a significant document related to the history of Minato.
- - Tangible Cultural Asset (Old Records): The collection of 11 volumes of materials from the Keio University Mita Speech Meeting.
Archaeological Findings Report Exhibition
The exhibition will also showcase findings from archaeological surveys conducted within Minato City in relation to development projects. The insights gained from these excavations will give visitors a glimpse into the rich history embedded in the city's landscape. Recent survey sites include:

Life in the Past Exhibition: Tools for Clothing
This exhibition displays tools related to clothing donated from both within and outside Minato City, presenting their uses and the evolution of these tools in an accessible manner for both adults and children. This exhibition also aligns with the social studies curriculum for 3rd grade elementary students, introducing them to the theme of “Tools and Changes in Lifestyle”.
