Huawei Unveils Innovative Solutions for the Future of Intelligent Transportation at MWC 2026

Huawei Announces Vision for Intelligent Transportation

Huawei recently showcased its vision for transforming the transportation sector into an intelligent ecosystem during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. The tech giant held a forum titled "Accelerate Transportation Digital Intelligence," where it gathered industry leaders, partners, and experts to explore innovative pathways for integrating technology into transportation logistics.

David Shi, Vice President of ICT Marketing and Solution Sales at Huawei, emphasized the company's commitment to collaboration and shared success. He stated, "Huawei is dedicated to openness, cooperation, and shared success. We will work with customers and partners to build a solid digital and intelligent foundation, connecting passenger, freight, business, revenue, and information flows."

The company's approach involves using Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various transportation scenarios, including rail, road, logistics, aviation, and ports. This strategy aims to enhance safety and efficiency, ultimately fostering stronger relationships with related sectors such as tourism and energy.

During the forum, multiple experts presented their insights and experiences:

  • - PhD. Reha Çetin, CIO of Istanbul Grand Airport, highlighted how Istanbul Airport, Europe’s fastest-growing aviation hub, is implementing the Airport 5.0 digital transformation aided by Huawei’s advanced technologies.

  • - Zaiming Ren, Deputy General Manager of CRSC International, discussed the effectiveness of the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS), which boosts rail transport capacity and enhances operational efficiency.

  • - Carlos López Gutiérrez, Transportation BU Director at SICE, explained how AI and edge computing can significantly improve infrastructure connectivity and reliability in transportation systems.

  • - Yang Rong, General Engineer of Tianjin Port, noted the vital role of ports in stabilizing economies and emphasized Tianjin Port's integration of ICTs, which include 5G and cloud computing into its operations.

Launch of Five Innovative Solutions

Huawei announced five specialized solutions designed to bolster the digital and intelligent framework of transportation and logistics:

1. Transportation Operations Coordination Center (TOCC) Solution: This initiative aims to improve efficiency across different scenarios, such as integrated monitoring of transportation and holiday travel, helping to create a new model for urban transportation management.

2. Next-Gen Bearer Network for Railways: Developed to provide high reliability and low latency for operational communication services in the railway sector, this network supports moving the rail industry toward more digital and intelligent practices.

3. Big Data Risk Control Solution: Collaborating with partners, Huawei created a solution leveraging its advanced big data platforms, vastly improving customs risk control processes and enhancing supervision and clearance efficiency.

4. All-Element Scheduling Agent for Ports: This industry-first solution uses innovative chain-of-thought technology to coordinate the entire port operation process, cutting operation planning time and increasing efficiency dramatically.

5. Intelligent Horizontal Transportation 2.0 Solution: This system enables effective mixed traffic using intelligent guided vehicles (IGVs) to streamline port operations.

At the forum, Huawei also celebrated a milestone achievement — the commercial deployment of the world's first 1.4 GHz 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) network specifically for railways in Indonesia, a significant advancement in railway connectivity.

Aiming for Comprehensive Digital Integration

As a demonstration of its commitment to advancing the digital and intelligent transportation ecosystem, Huawei partnered with Shandong Port Group to launch the Global Smart Port Showcase. This initiative illustrates how integrating big data with innovative technology can serve as a model for modernizing the global port industry.

With over 100 ports, 210 airports and airlines, and extensive urban rail and road networks across more than 70 cities globally, Huawei is well-positioned to lead the evolution of intelligent transportation. The company’s focus on the "platform + ecosystem" strategy aims to develop transportation hubs and networks, ensuring a seamless digital transition to intelligent logistics solutions. Huawei stands firm in its mission to drive mobility and logistics into an intelligent world, paving the way for a smarter future in transportation.
