The Academy for Creating Enterprise Launches 1,000th Chapter in Ghana to Empower Entrepreneurs

The Academy for Creating Enterprise Marks a Major Milestone

In a remarkable celebration highlighting 25 years of global impact, the Academy for Creating Enterprise proudly announced the launch of its 1,000th international chapter in Ghana in late 2024. This achievement is a significant reflection of the organization's ongoing mission to empower entrepreneurs in economically disadvantaged areas worldwide. The event, organized by the Tesana Academy Chapter, was a vibrant occasion that reached viewers far and wide via a live broadcast on Facebook.

Transforming Lives Through Entrepreneurship

The Academy for Creating Enterprise is committed to teaching essential business principles to individuals in developing regions, equipping them with the tools needed to initiate and grow income-generating activities. The organization's training caters primarily to necessity entrepreneurs, those who turn to self-employment to support their families due to economic constraints. The insights gained from the Academy's programs often lead to improved living standards, such as access to better nutrition and education. In fact, 81% of members reported enhanced quality of life following their training in 2024, with 84% noting an increase in personal income.

Building Local Support Networks

All programs offered by the Academy are provided free of charge. Participants are linked to local chapter support groups that convene regularly, where they receive continuous business training, mentorship, and peer support. As the number of members rises in a region, local chapters are formed to provide pertinent training and guidance closer to home. These groups are led by local leaders, often alumni of the Academy, who facilitate training and mentorship.

A Grand Celebration of Culture and Impact

The launch of the 1,000th chapter in Ghana was marked by a community business expo, showcasing local entrepreneurs who have advanced through the Academy's system. This expo not only highlighted individual success stories but also served as a networking platform, demonstrating the Academy’s impact on the local economy. Among the highlights was a compilation video that depicted the Academy's journey from its inception, with a nostalgic message from co-founder Steve Gibson sharing insights on collaborative learning and the importance of discipline in entrepreneurship.

The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by a spectacular cultural performance featuring traditional Ghanaian music and dance, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the host nation. During the event, Frankie Kwamani presented important program metrics, acknowledging the contributions of 132 volunteers and the expansion of chapters throughout Africa, including 14 in Nigeria and eight in Ghana.

Looking Ahead: The Sponsor-a-Chapter Initiative

To further enhance the influence of its chapter support groups globally, the Academy recently introduced the Sponsor-a-Chapter initiative. This program allows individuals and organizations to contribute $150 per month to support a chapter for one year, creating significant, lasting change in economically challenged regions, including Africa, the Philippines, and Latin America. Sponsors receive updates on chapter progress and personal success stories from local leaders, ensuring transparency and engagement in this transformative journey.

Cam Crowther, president of the Academy for Creating Enterprise, remarked, "Sponsoring a chapter is more than a donation; it’s a partnership that allows you to invest in real people and their potential." This initiative is designed to foster grassroots entrepreneurship and contribute to sustainable development in a world where job opportunities are scarce.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Founded in 1999, the Academy for Creating Enterprise stands as a pivotal nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals in areas plagued by unemployment. By imparting proven business strategies and connecting members to cohesive support networks, the organization has empowered over 150,000 members across 16 countries to attain self-reliance through entrepreneurship.

In essence, the Academy not only celebrates the dawn of its 1,000th chapter but also the collective effort of numerous individuals striving to elevate their communities through hard work, perseverance, and continuous learning.
