A New Culinary Haven in Inuyama
On October 19, 2025, the much-anticipated 'Bread and Espresso Inuyama Castle' will make its debut in the charming castle town of Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. This new venture is a collaboration between
Hibi to Hibi, known for its bakery cafes including the iconic Omotesando location, and
COURTESY, a Shizuoka-based company. With a rich history and breathtaking views of the National Treasure, Inuyama Castle, this cafe promises a unique dining experience that melds local culture with high-quality baked goods and coffee.
A Historical Venue
The newly designed cafe will be situated at the entrance of Inuyama's historic streets, taking advantage of the charm of the area. The building itself is a renovated version of the
Mano Family Residence, a registered tangible cultural property that reflects traditional Japanese architecture. With its warm wooden interiors and an inviting atmosphere, this space not only serves food but also embodies the unique cultural essence of Inuyama. Visitors can indulge in specially curated menus inspired by the region, making it a perfect stop for food lovers and tourists alike. Each patron is promised a memorable experience that highlights the best of 'one day' spent in Inuyama.
Exclusive Menu Offerings
As part of this unique new venue, several exclusive dishes are set to wow not only locals but also visitors to Inuyama. The
Iron Plate Omurice Napolitan Moocotto reimagines one of Nagoya's soul food classics, the 'Iron Plate Napolitan,' using the signature fluffy 'Moocotto' bread which is generously baked with spaghetti and rich tomato sauce topped with a fried egg. The harmonious blend of sweet bread, savory sauce, and creamy cheese makes for a dish that's truly irresistible.
Another highlight is the
Hatcho Miso Mootoast, a toast featuring a special sauce made from the famous Aichi prefecture's Hatcho miso, slathered generously on freshly baked 'Moocotto.' Topped with melting cheese sauce, it offers a delightful combination of richness and sweetness that represents the region beautifully.
Experience Inuyama's Culture Through Drinks
In addition to the incredible food offerings, 'Bread and Espresso Inuyama Castle' will feature original beverages incorporating local ingredients. One standout is the
Nintoshushu (Alcoholic Liqueur) made from the honeysuckle flower, crafted by the esteemed local producer,
Kojima Brewing. This liqueur celebrates the gentle sweetness and unique aroma of the honeysuckle flower, promising to elevate the dining experience. Special drinks will include
Nintou Spice Highball,
Nintou Hot Wine,
Twilight with Nintou and Umeshu,
Nintou Chai Latte, and a refreshing
Nintou Citrus Squash. The pairing of this local delicacy with the freshly baked bread and espresso is bound to provide a sensory journey too delightful to miss.
