Yokohama's Central West Exit Square Transformed into a Park for Public Experiment
Yokohama will undergo a unique transformation with a social experiment titled 'Yokohama Nishiguchi OPEN PARK'. Scheduled for May 23rd and 24th, 2025, this initiative aims to repurpose the Central West Exit Square of Yokohama Station into a welcoming park space. The project is led by the Yokohama Nishiguchi Area Management, in collaboration with Pacific Consultants Inc. and the Park Line Promotion Association.
The experiment aligns with Yokohama's urban revitalization policies, showcasing a shift from being merely a transportation hub to functioning as a vibrant community focal point. This transformation aims to enhance the area's appeal and contribute to the upcoming GREEN×EXPO2027, an international horticultural exhibition slated for 2027.
