Yet, Huang has managed to sustain her efforts, fueled by the unwavering support from the community. During particularly tough times, she received assistance from Pundarika Charity, which encouraged her to apply for financial grants to help keep her venture alive. Additionally, her landlord agreed to lower the rental cost, while an anonymous donor has contributed 100 yuan daily without fail for six consecutive years.

In 2025, with the backing of a charitable foundation, Huang launched a free barber service for the elderly, charging a nominal fee of only three yuan for other customers. This initiative is part of a broader cultural commitment in the Nanhai district of Foshan, where respect and care for the elderly are deeply ingrained traditions, celebrated through mutual support among communities.

Huang emphasizes that aiding the elderly has become a customary act in Shishan, reflecting a long-standing moral duty. Many locals adhere to the principle of treating others’ elders with the same respect as their own, fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and generosity.
