Mottu Achieves 100,000 Motorcycle Rentals and BRL 1 Billion Milestones, Empowering Gig Workers in Brazil and Mexico

In a remarkable achievement that underscores its leadership in Latin America's motorcycle rental market, Mottu has reached two significant milestones: surpassing 100,000 rented motorcycles and achieving BRL 1 billion in revenues. These accomplishments highlight the company's commitment to empowering gig workers, particularly those at the economic bottom, by providing affordable mobility solutions across 100 cities in Brazil and Mexico.

Since its inception in 2020, Mottu has become a lifeline for couriers who struggle to access credit. By enabling these individuals to rent motorcycles, Mottu facilitates sustainable income through food delivery, e-commerce, and transportation services. With an average household size considered, the milestone of 100,000 rentals signifies 330,000 individuals who have benefited from Mottu's services, breaking away from financial exclusion.

Mottu’s founder, Rubens Zanelatto, expressed the company's mission succinctly: "Mottu exists to serve the unserved. For many of our customers, access to a motorcycle is the difference between unemployment and a sustainable livelihood." The achievement of BRL 1 billion in revenues is not solely a growth metric; it's a testament to the numerous lives transformed through improved access to affordable mobility.

Majority of Mottu’s clients hail from disadvantaged neighborhoods, with 96% acknowledging enhancements in their lives post-rental. This feedback strengthens the social impact of Mottu's business strategy that combines profitability with societal change.

To further capitalize on its success, Mottu introduced the 'Conquiste' rent-to-own plan in 2024. Targeting a broader audience, this program provides individuals the opportunity to own new or used motorcycles, with affordable monthly payments spread over three years. The company has taken significant steps to enhance its customer service experience, including vertical integration of its value chain.
