Too Sweet Cakes Expands With $750K Investment in Its Flagship Store Opening

Too Sweet Cakes Expands in Style: A New Flagship Store in Paradise Valley

Too Sweet Cakes, celebrated for its exceptional cakes and pastries, is set to unveil its first flagship store this October at the $2 billion redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall in Phoenix, Arizona. This new location marks a significant milestone for the women-owned bakery brand, which has been recognized as one of the top six cake shops in the United States by USA Today.

With an investment of $750,000, this 1,800-square-foot bakery will not only be the fourth retail outlet for Too Sweet Cakes but also the first location where the founder, Shelbi Geyer, had complete creative control from the ground up. "After 10 years of building this brand, Paradise Valley is the first time we have gotten to build Too Sweet Cakes exactly the way I always pictured it," Geyer stated, highlighting her excitement about the opening.

The design of the new flagship store, developed in partnership with Phoenix-based hospitality firm House of Form, showcases a modern European bakery aesthetic. Features will include a charming blush facade, an inviting full coffee bar, and a convenient walk-up window for customers looking to grab their favorite coffee or pastry on the go.

A Comprehensive Menu to Delight All

The flagship location will serve an extensive menu that revolves around Too Sweet Cakes' renowned specialty cakes and its highly popular croissant doughnuts. These delicious treats are made in-house using an exclusive all-butter recipe, ensuring that every bite is a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Additionally, they will cater to a variety of dietary preferences, offering gluten-free and vegan options, making it accessible for everyone.

Alongside sweet treats like cinnamon rolls, French macarons, cookies, and cupcakes, the bakery boasts an exclusive grab-and-go savory menu featuring enticing Roman-style pizza, fresh baguette sandwiches, and wholesome salads. Such a diverse selection is a testament to Geyer’s commitment to not only maintaining the bakery's reputation for quality but also expanding its offerings to meet community needs.

Founded in 2016 in Bend, Oregon, Too Sweet Cakes began its journey as a small wholesale operation before transitioning to retail. The first storefront opened in 2018, and since then, the brand has experienced fantastic growth across Oregon and Arizona, now featuring four retail locations and over 100 wholesale partnerships with well-known coffee chains and markets across multiple states.

Geyer expressed her passion for the new establishment, stating, "We invested in every detail, and we are opening it in the community my family calls home." This personal connection emphasizes the bakery's commitment to nurturing community ties and providing a gathering place for locals to enjoy delightful baked goods.

As the grand opening approaches, excitement is building around Too Sweet Cakes’ flagship store in Paradise Valley. The combination of quality ingredients, a beautiful new design, and a carefully curated menu is sure to attract many customers eager to experience the bakery’s signature hospitality and remarkable pastries.
