Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Matthew Bouw as Chief Executive for APAC & EMEA

Cushman & Wakefield Announces New Chief Executive for APAC & EMEA

Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), a leading global real estate services firm headquartered in Chicago, has announced the appointment of Matthew Bouw as Chief Executive for Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) effective May 1, 2025. This strategic move is designed to adopt a unified operating model across these regions to ensure service scale and balance while supporting growth and enhancing global connectivity for clients.

Bouw has been leading the APAC region as Chief Executive since 2017, where he has showcased significant growth and development in the business. His extensive experience of 13 years with C&W includes roles such as Global Chief Administrative Officer and Global Chief HR & Strategy Officer, with a strong presence in the company's Chicago office. He played key roles in critical company transformations, including the acquisition of DTZ in 2011 and the merger of legacy organizations from 2014 to 2015. His previous experience at renowned global companies such as PwC, Aviva, Orica, Leighton, and UGL has further solidified his qualifications for this new role. Moving forward, Bouw will base his operations in London, focusing on driving business growth in both the APAC and EMEA regions.

As part of this planned transition, Colin Wilson will step down as the Chief Executive for EMEA and depart from the organization to pursue a new career stage. Until his departure, he will continue to work as an advisor to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Over the past 29 years, he has made invaluable contributions particularly in the EMEA region.

Operating under an integrated business model provides several advantages:

  • - Enhanced flexibility to prioritize investments and resources across key regions, sectors, and services.
  • - Development of a unified strategy for key initiatives involving data, technology, and transformation.
  • - The ability to tap into top talent across regions.
  • - Expanding best practices between the two regions and driving business opportunities focused on cross-selling, sales enablement, and efficiency.

Andrew McDonald, Global President and COO of Cushman & Wakefield, remarked, “Matthew is a proven visionary leader with over 30 years of experience in driving business success and growth. I trust in Matthew’s leadership and look forward to the growth and scalability this integrated operation will bring to our clients.”

In reflecting on his new role, Bouw commented, “It’s an excellent opportunity to enhance business growth by leveraging the strengths of each region and delivering even more valuable advice, solutions, and services to our clients daily.”
