Tequila Don Julio Partners with Panadería Rosetta to Celebrate Día de Muertos Globally
Tequila Don Julio has taken another step in its ongoing commitment to share the beauty of Mexican culture with the world, focusing on the vibrant celebration of Día de Muertos. This year, the brand collaborates with Panadería Rosetta, one of Mexico's most acclaimed bakeries, to offer a taste of an essential tradition—the
pan de muerto, a sweet and aromatic bread symbolic of love and remembrance. Following an impressive showing last year with beautiful altars in eight global cities, Don Julio is expanding its reach with the unique pop-up experience,
Panadería Don Julio, appearing in more than a dozen notable cities around the world.
The
Panadería Don Julio concept aims to bring to life a traditional Mexican bakery infused with the vibrancy of a tequila bar, offering a distinctive take on the cherished traditions of Día de Muertos. Each location will incorporate local interpretations of the festivities, providing patrons with the beloved
pan de muerto from Panadería Rosetta alongside specially crafted cocktails from Handshake Speakeasy, celebrated as North America's top bar and ranked second worldwide.
As guests enter, they will be surrounded by elements that honor the spirit of Día de Muertos, including candlelit altars where offerings can be left for loved ones, vibrant marigold cascades, and more. This pop-up experience invites communities to gather and immerse themselves in the authentic energy of the holiday, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth and joy.
Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of Global Tequila and Mezcal Categories at Diageo, expressed, "This festival is a celebration of love, legacy, and tradition, values that are at the heart of Tequila Don Julio. With premier partners like Panadería Rosetta and Handshake Speakeasy, we are thrilled to once again bring this vibrant celebration to audiences globally, honoring the rich cultural heritage and culinary artistry of Mexico in a meaningful way."
Elena Reygadas, the visionary chef behind Panadería Rosetta, also shared her perspective. She stated, "Día de Muertos is one of Mexico's most significant celebrations, merging life and death through memories, food, and rituals.
Pan de muerto is a gesture of love that connects us with those who are no longer here. Our collaboration with Tequila Don Julio allows us to share this living tradition with the world, celebrating the richness and creativity of Mexican culture."
The
Panadería Don Julio experience will extend to various international cities, including Bogotá, Caracas, Delhi, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, London, Mumbai, and Santo Domingo. Each location will embrace local flavors and traditions while offering the iconic
pan de muerto of Panadería Rosetta.
For those unable to visit in person, Tequila Don Julio will share a video via Instagram (@donjuliotequila), reaching a global audience and embracing both traditional and modern elements of Día de Muertos. This promotional film will showcase the symbolism and personal stories that make Día de Muertos a heartfelt celebration of love, memory, and connection, featuring cultural ambassadors like chef Elena Reygadas and Carlos Eric Lopez.
