The highly anticipated Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2025, recognized as one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, has officially unveiled its extensive lineup along with special screening events. Set to be a highlight for cinema lovers, the festival will showcase approximately 250 films selected from an impressive total of 4,592 submissions. The festival also boasts prestigious accreditation from the Academy Awards®, providing a crucial platform for short films looking to gain international recognition.
Festival Highlights
The theme for this year's festival, “creative active generative,” underlines the focus on innovation in filmmaking. The festival features competitions in the categories of Live Action, Non-Fiction, and Animation—all of which could potentially lead to Academy Award nominations. This year, in addition to traditional categories, SSFF & ASIA will premier brand new program segments including Horror Suspense, K-SHORT, and a special selection honoring Saudi Arabia's 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
